Every day
the words inside me
struggle
in their birthing
to find the breath
to fill
these empty spaces
with energy.

Sometimes they drown
in the natal pools
of my mind
smothered
in second thinking
and the censorship
of doubt...

At other times
they come to life
in flawless lines
of limitless possibility.

Who knows how,
they've been raised
to the surface
of my consciousness.

I can only hope
to capture
their ephemeral beauty
now,
quickly,
before the feeling
fades...
