Long Time

I know this site has been through alot of changes since I was last on here. I am now back, and everybody changes..... Been through all sorts of things. Some I'm willing to talk about and some I'm not. Witchcraft descussions are back open though so if you feel the need to ask something do it here. I'll do myu best to answer, find the answer, or find someone who has some sort of answer for your question. BB, Matt

Newcomers into the Craft

Today I am writing this for someone in particular. She is my girlfriend, whom I love very much, and she had a question. She asked me, what is the difference between "our" religion and "thier" religion? Well, what a question that is. That is a very difficult question to answer in a short time. So this is what I am going to try to do. I am going to put a few of the big differences between Pagans/Wiccans and Christians. I would like it if I could could get some participation out of you, the Cherry Tap community that reads this blog. Just post something in the comment box and submit. One of the biggest differences between the two is the fact that our Gods are real and there's isn't. I'm just kidding, we Pagans agree that your God works too. On the more serious side of this though. Pagans and Witches believe in multiple Gods where Christians do not. This makes us a Pantheistic instead of a monotheistic. Monotheistc: doctrine or belief that is but one God. Pantheistic: Belief in many Gods. An example of a popular Pantheistic religion would be that of the Greeks. Monotheism would be that of the Christians and Catholics. Another big difference between the two would be the theory of what happens when we die. Christians believe that if you are good and you die then you go to this wonderfull place called Heaven. However, if you are bad then you are doomed to spend an eternity tourmented in Hell. (What a loving God they must have.) Pagans believe that when we die, we are given a chance to go and be with our loved ones that we knew on Earth that has passed before us. After a resting period with these loved ones we then get to go back to Earth where we have the joy of meeting these loved ones once again and loving them all over. (Which sound a heck of a lot better to me.) So there is two big differences between the two. Your imput would be great. It is always good to hear other perspectives than just one persons view. I would like to add one more thing to those doubters of it being impossible for there to be more than just one God. The Christian God himself said in Exodus, when he wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets. Thou shalt not have any other God"s" before me. Therefore admitting that there are other Gods and he was being selfish to want all the attention himself.

Magick is Around Us

The beauty and magic of nature has nothing to do with magick. There is the magic of the birth of a healthy child; the magic of true love. There is the magic of getting out of bed in the morning through an act of will. Unfortunately, this only seems to be magic to those who do not have this power. Those of us who can direct our bodies through acts of will too often take this power for granted. We fail to see the wondrousness of simple things, like wiping the sweat from one's brow. We take for granted the act of opening our eyes to feast on the sublimity of glaciers and oceans or the beauty of sunsets or meadows of wild flowers. These are truly magical deeds and, when contemplated, hold enough wonder to fill universes. But for many, it seems, such real magic will never be enough. A poem.

© Nov. 2006 Crykit My eye's open. I breathe in. The air hurts my lungs, Yet I must breathe. Otherwise, What would be the point? A life of desolation. Poverty struck, insucurities. A sick desperation. One day at a time, Life seems to take it's toll. Yet I breathe in.

Merry Meet How is everyone on this wonderful Thursday afternoon. Hopfully everyone is doing great. It is a glorious time of year. I just think it is wonderfull. It is a very magickal time of year. I know that in life sometimes it feels like things are spinning out of control, like there's no end. You have to slow down, look around you. The leaves are changing to show there there colors. Isn't it grand how leaves change to something beautiful as they die? I think this symbolizes that even something as horrific as death, especially if the one who died was close, has beauty in it. If life has been getting to you a lot here lately, even if it has only got to you a little, I want you to go and find a place with a good view of the tree's. It doesn't matter if it is inside or outside but you need to be comfortable, so if it is cold dress warm or stay inside. I want you sit down on the floor/ground in a comfortable position, example: indian style, and look around you at the colors. Breathe nice deep slow breathes and exhale. Take in the magick of this time of year and go into a light trance. Say this little little prayer: Powers that be, guide me as I walk the path. Bring me joy, and let me laugh. Wake my soul so I may see, The beauty of nature that surrounds me. When hard time's come, help me walk them slow. For you're always around me, this I know. If I feel down let nature's breath come into me. This is my prayer, blessed Be. Then after saying the prayer continue to sit there in your meditation for a few more moments. Take in that which is around you. I know that you will feel much better. You will have had what alcoholics refer to as a spiritual experience. Thing's around you will seem more beautiful than ever, but the beauty has been there all along. You just had to wake yourself up to it. If only we could get the rest of the world to awake to this, we would have a much better place to live. That concludes today's post. I hope you enjoy and participate. Merry Part Until Merry Meet Again, Blessed Be, Crykit

Samhain

Happy Hallows! Today is the biggest Witches Sabbat of the year. Anyone have big plans? I don't really. I'll probably do a private ritual here at home and talk on the phone. May have planned more but I'm stuck at home this year. Tell me what you have planned. Blessed Be, Crykit
