A FRIEND TALKED ME INTO POSTING SOME OF MY WRITING SO HERE IT GOES..
WHY DOYOU LOVE ME?
One day in July a blue-eyes angel was born into this world.
Her Mommy and Daddy had never seen anything so beautiful. It was the proudest day when they took her home. Finally the family they had longed to have. The days went by and baby grew, her parents where amazed at the things she could do.
One day her parents noticed something was not right so they took her to the Doctor, He assured them everything was fine, what a relief. Things continued to get worse,so they took her to the Doctor once again. After many test and days of waiting and worries they where told their angel had cancer. How could this be she was only 9 months old. Their world crumbled in front of them. The following months of chemo and surgeries where hell, but what could they do, they needed to save her life.
Her first birthday came along which they said they might never see. What a grand day that was. A day of love and many thanks to the good man above for letting them keep his angel one more day.
One day the precious angel looked at her mommy and said “mum” at that very moment her mother felt her heart overflow with love, as a tear of joy ran down her cheek.
It was time to add to the family. Along came a brown eyes beauty. What a wonderful big sister she was to the new baby, so protective and watched every move her lil sister made.
As time passed, the little angel was growing up to be a little lady. She was beginning to notice she was different than the other kids in her class. She came home from school one day with tears streaming down her face and asks “mommy, why do kids make fun of me because I wear hearing aids, and why did God make me different?’ Her mother’s heart broke to see her little lady in so much pain and confusion. She said, you are a special gift from God and your hearing aids help you hear when people say I LOVE YOU.
The next day wasn’t much better; once again she came home in tears and asks “mommy, why do kids make fun of me because I wear glasses and why did God make me different?” Once again her mother said “you’re a special gift from God and your glasses help you see all the people around you who love you”.
Things began to look and she began to make new friends. She ran in the door one Friday from school with a smile from ear to ear and yelled “MOMMY, MY FRIEND WANTS ME TO STAY ALL NIGHT WITH HER, CAN I PLEASE SHE IS NICE TO ME!” Much to her mother’s dismay, she agreed.
Monday rolled around and back to school. She came home and walked in the front door sobbing uncontrollably and ask “mommy, why did my new friend make fun of me for wearing pull-ups in front of the other kids and why did God make me different?” This time her mother did not have an answer, instead she took her by the hand and sat her down and said “My beautiful little lady, people are going to say things to hurt your feelings, but look around you at all the people who love you. You can be anything you want to be, go anyplace you want you go, life is out there waiting for you”. Her daughter looked at her and said “I was going to ask you why you loved me, but I already know. I feel it in your arms when you hug me, and I see it in the tears that you cry for me”.
At their local festival that is held every year, the little lady decided to enter the queen’s pageant. Looking at all the other fancy dressed girls, her mother couldn’t help but think her angel didn’t stand a chance. Will she hear them call her number? Will she hear the questions that ask her? And how will she respond? The time for her to go on stage was never ending. Finally, they called her number and she had the biggest smile on her face and held her head up high. She answered the question with the grace her parents had never seen. When the time came to announce the winner she was not one of them: once again her mother felt her heart break. But out of the blue they heard someone say will contestant number 12 please come to the stage. The young ladies mother could not believe it, her daughter was number 12!
As all the beautiful queens gathered around her daughter and placed a crown of diamonds on her head and a sash of gold around her chest, a man explained she was the first ever Honoree Junior Princess. The young lady stood proud on the stage between her two favorite men, the love of her life Loren from Special Wish and Tom from the pageant committee.
She wore that crown all weekend with great pride. That day was a huge impact on the young lady, to know that people do care about her. She told her mommy that is was okay she didn’t win the crown of the queen, because this crown was given to me by people who think I am really special and that’s better feeling that winning any day.
The little girl will soon be 10 years old, and yes she still fights daily health battles. But life is good for her. To see the beginning of a new day and what it brings she does what has to be done.
For you see, this is the story of my daughter Bethany. Her ups and downs, her joys and tears. As we read threw this together last night she looked at me and said “I was going to ask you why you loved me, but I already know. I see it in your smile; I hear it in your voice. Mom, I just want to say I LOVE YOU TO.
Yes, she will always be moms little angle.
