I know my heart had formed a shell,
To protect itself from this worlds hell.
A hardened heart, armored from pain,
Steeled to the core, sheltered from the rain.
Then a day came along, much to my surprise,
Witty chat, long talks and bright blue eyes.
This shell is weakening though I know not why,
I have been through so much pain to let it reach for the sky.
Now it has begun to soar where only eagles dare tread,
This heart of mine that was once so cold, heartache has fled.
Those shining eyes and warm soft skin,
Have made me believe in love again.
If I only have this one chance to let her know one thing,
You have brought the joy of living back to me again.
