What if I died today?
Someone at coffee & cream (the coffee shop at the end of my dirt road. I know am I lucky or what?) what my family, friends, & myself would think of my life if I died sudenly. I looked at them and smiled. She took one look at my peircings, tatoos, & hairstyle and made a horrible misjudgement that I was some worthless punk scumbag. Sucker!
I told her that I have lived my life full out. and will continue to do so. I have done more than most people will ever do in their life. I have loved more than most people have in their lives. I've done more more good than many people do in their life time. If I died I would be missed but I would be happy. I have let few oppertunities that I wanted pass me by. I have so few regrets that they could fit in my hat. I said if I died today I would be proud of what I've done in my short time. I may be forcefull in appearance but I am usualy gental in my movements....... I'm not going to die anytime soon because I'm just geting warmed up.
So what if you were going to die today, What if you were going to die tomorrow, or next week? Would you regret the way you lived your life?
What if you lived? Would you have the strength to better yourself? would you make those changes you put off? Would you have the ambition to reach up & out and be the kind of person who would be loved and missed when you do pass. Or would you just keep on moving & taking whatever you can get and leave it at that?
Love, compassion, friendship.... these are the things that last in the human world after you pass. If that is the case you don't realy go away once you die. You linger in fond memories of thouse you touched. I still have friends who make me smile years after they became dust in the wind. They still live inside me. Their essance continues to shine brightly.
