My hubby and I moved away from my mom & little brother, 3 years ago. Until we moved, my mom (and brother) came to our house for the holidays, unless they were visiting other family out of state.

This year, my brother (now 19, still living at home and living off of mom) has decided to spend Thanksgiving entirely at his girlfriend's family home (same town as my mom). He has refused to spend any time at all with my mom and she has not been invited to join them. He told her this Sunday, too late for her to purchase a ticket to come here or go to California. For the first time in 27 years she's spending a holiday entirely alone.
