What are you waiting for?

Yippie!!! A heat wave - made it to the 30's today! OMG still a lot of snow on the ground and lets not forget my roof. The deicing cable doesn't appear to working that well still inches of ice. But then my youngest one day while it was in the 30's and no snow yet or ice on his roof went out to unplug it. (LOL, I can't remember telling him too as there was snow forecasted for the following day anyhow. But they say to unplug it if it's above freezing and there is no snow or ice on it so it doesn't wear out too fast. I'm thankful I have good neighbors, either my South side neighbor's Son-in-Law will hit with his blade when he comes over which isn't very often now that they have built their own house and have moved out a couple years ago now. But my neighbor across the street has been coming over and using his snow blower (he has one attached to his riding lawn mower) I thought it was him the first time it was done. But then I had heard something and was able to catch him in the act. As soon as the first comes around again and I have my monthly lot of money I am going to send him a Thank You Card with a little in to help with the gas and his time being out in the sub zero temps just so I could get out if there was an emergency. I can't just hand it too him he won't accept it. I've tried it before he said just saying "Thanks" was enough. I know he's been laid off and driving for a local farmer. With this economy we all need a little something extra. At least I now have a bit of a snow wall - LOL - when the snow plow goes down the street it doesn't get over and near the car! With that being said I am afraid I may have to pull the plug on the internet for awhile the past couple days now I have faintly heard some screeching noise (PC trying to dial out) and my phone line showing being in use when I look at my cordless phone display. I am unsure if it's my son's (would be more likely he picked up something as I always let my scans run, especially as much as he downloads music and games) I can't find anything on my PC where it is showing that it is trying to dial out. But I'm sure the PC Doc can hopefully walk me through it. My son plays WOW (World of Warcraft) so he won't unplug his PC as I'm sure it's his I just said something a few minutes ago as I heard and checked the phone and seen the "phone line in use" if it continues with my PC being unplugged then I know it's from his PC and his will be delt with FOR SURE whether he likes it or not!
OK just a little update I am still alive. Still dealing with the pain & suffering with my right hip (and my tail bone - years ago I fell down the stairs at my parents home getting worse I guess) I can't sit for long periods of time. It's been worse the past few weeks because of the cold we have been in the single digits and below zero for highs. Electic has not been stable (when is it) at least so far it has frozen the water pipes or the gas line. My youngest is stuck at my parents for the time being. He so wanted to come home I went out to shovel the sidewalk and clean the car off and my mom called on the cell with a road condition report she got from my brother as he works in Elkhart, IN and had just gotten home to feed and water the steers at my parents (just 2) and then he has 2 llama's a pony, 4 goats and chickens to tend to by his place. It was getting dark when he decided he wanted to come home (mom and I were hoping he'd decide to stay there because of the cold so I wouldn't have to be out shoveling I ended up coming back in and putting a scarf around my face with my hood up on my jacket as it was too cold). US 12 wasn't the greatest as my brother put it so he said Second Street being a country road would be worse yet. But Pardee Road was basically drifited shut and almost unpassable. But he took the 4x4 pick up in or he wouldn't have gotten through. Then took the tractor with the blade and plowed out his drive and my parents. With any luck I'll be able to make it out there tomorrow after the snow plows make there first (and sometimes only pass). That was the down side of living on the farm being out in the country on roads less traveled the snow plows only make one pass some times two if we were lucky. If you weren't in by 5 pm you wouldn't get home. At least being in town (the village limits) they do come through 3 times through out the day during the week roads are kept plowed better in town (as I'm sure it is everywhere) But with the Budget cuts and all going on they don't plow or salt as much as they used to years ago. I heard another accident on the Toll Road yesterday so today they had said no big trucks, double trailers or the like were being allowed on the Toll Road as it was too slick. Many slide offs butt only a couple deaths so far this week. I'm thinking people are starting to drive more sensible. School Closings for tomorrow are coming in already!!! But the youngest was already off do to teachers in service or something. Off Monday for MLK day too. Of course the oldest will most likely skip I can't remember how he put it last year but because most schools take the day and it's a federal holiday and the fact that he's not a racist person he was taking the day off also. OMG my toes are starting to freeze gonna have to get back in the recliner and put the heat pad on my back and cover with a couple of fleece blankets to get warm again. It's times like these I wish I had some male companion to keep me warm. But my faithful companion Nicki (my cocker spaniel) is at my feet now and will hop up on my lap once I move to my recliner. Gotta, get back on my other game the electric went off before I could save it so I have to start over again from where I was at. I hate it when that happens. With all the snow that we have had the past couple of weeks I am really hoping we don't have a heat wave as we did last year about now. They are already watching some of the rivers in areas with the ice jams. Last weeks warm up and rain cause part of Cleveland Road just a few miles North of here to wash out where they had just did new asphalt. They brought in several loads of dirt and have filled it but unless they do something like making a concrete wall or using metal slats I'm afraid the next major thaw rain we have it's going to wash the dirt out from under it again.

Not sure what I did but...

OK so I haven't been on here much the past few days. Actually, I think this is the first in a couple of days. We had about 10 inches of snow in the forecast that was supposed to start Late Thursday and on into Friday. Well, instead we got just a few inches of snow along with some ice. I have been at my PC briefly checking email messages as apparently I have done something to pinch a nerve. I have arthritis in all hip and knee joints. The right hip being more severe. This past week alone just sitting at the PC for long periods of time I get it in my tail bone (LOL, ok if you wanna be funny and smart my arse!) I'm sure this is because I desperately need to go see my chiropractor. But since my auto insurance will no longer pay any accident related medical visit (as they only paid for a yr after the accident). Obviously, I can't afford to go when I really need to. I am trying to keep it at just once a month although, I was going once every two weeks if not sooner if I felt I needed. So I am back to my not going unless I absolutely can't bare it and the pain pills can't help it routine. I still have some cookies I need to get baked. With any luck maybe I can get some going tomorrow as the kids are home now from school for a few weeks, I can at least get the youngest to help (he's my little man of the house) the oldest is stuck with playing W.O.W (World of Warcraft). My left hip is now giving me some havoc (pinched nerve) as there are times when it really throbs. A few of you have my number to contact me in emergencies if I am needed at once. Between the pain and my youngest taking a few minutes or so playing his "John Deere Farmer" or "18 Wheels of Steel" games I will be checking email as keeping a window open on here eventually drains the memory. I will be checking emails for emails from pen pals (e-pals), friends & fubar alerts and will try to make an appearance for a few minutes at least to reply back on comments, messages, etc. Last but not least in case I forget or we have a major snow/ice storm and loose power come Monday. Hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas! Yep, from what I here it's going to be a mess again Monday morning. I can't even fill my tub with water in case the electric should go for flushing the throne! The cross bar broke that held the pop up drain plug in place!
Just had a power outage come back on a few minutes ago trying to catch up with comments & messages. As I haven't been quite myself the past few days. Between coughing and sneezing (yep a stupid cold), I also think the holidays coming up and not being able to get the kids much of what they really want is starting to get to me. Perhaps that's the reason my blood pressure was 144/98 yesterday when they took it at the Health Dept. But then I was a bit worked up because a county car was parked in the handicapped spot with no handicapped sign in it. But they were addressing the issue of getting another sign to post higher up on a post or railing nearby as it was snow covered that morning when the guy showed for hearing there. But it was much higher the day of the accident and they didn't keep in overnight for observation - shocking I thought for sure I'd be there till it went down more. The doctor has me on Lasix to help with the swelling in my feet, legs and keep it low but there are times when it does flare up a bit as I'm sure others with BP problems are aware of. I have been busy trying to get my Christmas Cards finished and have mailed most of them yesterday only a few left as I was waiting for emails to confirm a few addresses from family and friends. But rest assure although, I may be feeling a bit down I have no plans of taking my own life I have two boys to take care of. Although, actually I think for the past year they've been taking care of me somewhat helping get some things done around the house I can no longer do or that cause me pain from trying to do them. I'm not even sure about baking cookies this year as I have in the past although, I guess I should make a couple varieties as my mom doesn't do much with her new stove/oven she can only do one try at a time the way the rake settings are. LOL But I need to be getting dinner going as I was going to start it when the electric went out, but wanted to give all an update as to my lack of appearance on here. Of course, I don't trust the electric company so I am hoping the electric stays on long enough to get dinner done then I will come back and catch up a little more with returning comments and messages. And adding new rider to the train.

Still under the Weather :(

LOL OK I know this doesn't quite fit the weather category. But I have been feeling under the weather the past week trying to get over this bronchial/cold crap. So I have been off an on doing what I can to help out. I am sorry if I have not been on much to give it my all. Today we had a good foot of snow (ok so I guess here's the weather related stuff LOL) and then some. As I was arguing with my oldest to please go out and shovel the sidewalk and around the car area to get it out in case of emergency, and I wanted him to get the roof rake to clear the snow off Donovan's roof as it has already been leaking from the rain prior to the snow. I have once again just about lost my voice. So I have been in bed under the blankets trying to stay warm to get over this. As I have an upcoming dental appointment the day before Thanksgiving. If my thinking is right he will pull another tooth if not two depending on the damage to the second as they are taking me off Medicaid since my parents have been helping me pay some bills to keep a roof over both my kids and my heads. Which means I got back to my routine of not going to the doctor unless I am really really sick and in a lot of pain. Which of course, I had pretty much been doing for how long other then for the past year the auto insurance was covering medical costs for the injuries there. Now they aren't as they only pay for a year. I am on my quest for disability wish me luck as I wish all others that are trying to get it that need it. But I really can't complain to much with my oldest after all he did finally go out and shovel the sidewalk and he did shovel "around" the car. LOL it wasn't till my Dad dropped the youngest off then he went outside and shoveled the rest. Bless his little heart he is my little helper. I need to go check on him as he went out the backdoor to get the snow off his roof as Big Brother wouldn't do much. Can't tear himself away from World of Warcraft. Of course, he'll be the one suffering when his game card runs out unless his dad starts paying to support his game funds. If he can't work it off he's not gonna get the cards to play.
This is not going to be anything fancy as I wanted to get this in here before the next power surge/outage as with the wind the electric has went on and off about 6 times this morning so far. I value my PC and the information on it and during times like these I tend to shut the PC down totally. I will be heading out the door here shortly, to borrow an ingredient I need for my Pot Roast that has been cooking for a few hours now. I am hoping that there isn't an actual power outage for any length of time. But for new until the winds die down I will be shutting the PC down. At least for a few hours to play it safe. If you need to contact me please call me there are few that I have left my number with you should know who you are.
