Entry for March 24, 2007 welll.... I clarified some inconsistencies and falsehoods within my "knowledge base" anyway.... Boudicca.... anyway.... was not some mystical Celtic druidress...... she was ancient, rebel Iceni nobility in Britain around the time of the Roman Occupation BEFORE Catholicism ruled Rome...... after Catholocism "conquered" Roman politics and such I suppose and began "demonizing" old legendary figures of religious and political importance..... within the cultures of the conquered territory taken by the Roman Legions..... as Christianity/Catholocism were gaining power.... Boudicca was absorbed eventually into the new "canon" or rather, "anti-canon" of the Cathololic progaganda..... and became the myth and legend of The Queen of Elfhame among the changing "heathen" peoples..... as Catholocism attempted to Christianize them..... Boudicca as noble... fought against the Roman Regime.... and so was "enemy" of Church and State"..... The Queen of Elfhame.... was originally considered to the female incarnation of Satan himself..... but the myth was fairly well lost to time eventually..... I don't believe many layman kno anything about the Queen of Elfhame even if they have heard of Boudicca.... who's I guess fairly well-known..... well-known historical figure..... Boudicca...... was a huge woman apparently, not small, a warrior very fierce, not druidress... but she had Red Hair.... so is The Queen of Elfhame reputed to have had Red Hair..... so word of mouth stories must have been reinterpreted and changed over time in which Boudicca became forgotten and the Queen of Elfhame became all that remained of the connection.... the fact that she was inspired by Boudicca I believe..... was without weight and the connection between the two was lost in time..... it was interesting to find an article that showed me that.... I'll get the reference in case someone reads this so they can look it up online like I did.... together with the book "The Witch Cult of Western Europe"..... the informations indicates this was more than likely true in conjunction with common knowledge of the Catholic tactics of conversion and the manner in which folk legends came into being...... link as follows to article: http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/parsonal/boudicca.htm smiles, tc, ttyl, j. concurrent from... now... other sites...Talk City... yahoo 360 "Clover"
