I am participating in a crochet voodooo doll challenge/swap.
Here's the deal, I was given the request of one of the other swap participants; she asked that the doll I create has elements of engineering and/or "steam Punk".
I had no idea what Steam Punk was, I had never heard of it. So, after a little research, I have found that Steam Punk -- in my words -- is a victorian sci-fi type genre. The best example I know of, is the characters and world created in the Wild Wild West movie (and previously the old tv series).
It is a fantasy world of inventions and gadgets placed in a Victorian setting.
I have so far finished the head, and neck. the neck is a spring that I removed from the battery compartment of a flashlight key chain. I used the LED bulb from the same flashlight for one key; and a 'crystal ball' ring I'd bought ages ago for the other eye. So one eye is clear, the other looks clear on some angles and various colors on other angles.
I have various bits and bobs in jars that I plan to use in the doll... but have not yet decided HOW to use them.
But I am super excited about this project.
