Visions of Witches
Blithely turning my face towards the moons
My mind howls in the language of runes.
The glow of their light makes my eyes ache
I'm blinded by the Ladies of the Lake.
Woad shamelessly glistens from upon their brows
The gods of the past they attempt to rouse.
Chanting and singing in ritual form,
The power of the words creating a storm.
Then all the bluster softens to mist,
And the gods lightened the realm with a kiss.
Magickal energy abounds from breeze,
As the witches began to heal the trees.
Stumbling amidst their magickal fray,
I'm locked by the fear forcing my stay.
Admiring their ancient call to the Light
Yet humbled by the chaos I see in the night
