After speaking with the union representative about my problem, I was left dumbfounded. She was pessimistic about the district granting me any paid leave time. Apparantly you have to be PHYSICALLY injured to receive any sort of L&I disability benefits.
I sent her a picture of the broken window. She thought it looks like a bullet hole. The administration didn't think it did. Not only do I know it's a bullet, but it's a .22 caliber at that!!
I don't have any sick leave anymore. I can't go back to that place (Hunt) again. There are no other positions available. An alternative would be for me to substitute at regular teacher pay. Something tells me that that wouldn't fly.
I feel like I am trapped. Short term disability only pays half of what we need each month. I can't get a part time job while on the disability.
Would all that are reading this please pray for us?
