Okay, quick question for my gearhead friends.
This being my first turbo-boosted car, I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to their intricacies.
I got 'er out on the highway and floored it. Very nice, lots of torque.
However, as soon as the boost gauge read +21 psi, it felt like the turbo dumped and the gauge dropped to about 12. It only did it once (didn't get a chance to get it over 20 psi again), but it still had me a little worried.
Is that some type of failsafe to keep the turbo from over-boosting (is that even a word)? Or should I check for issues with the system? |
