11 Rules

A friend brought this to my attention. These are "The 11 rules of Life" as written and spoken by Microsoft CEO Bill Gates Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone until you earn both. Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity. Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault; so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room. Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life. Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you "FIND YOURSELF". Do that on your own time. Rule 10: Television and video games are NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one. This was recently used in a speech given by Bill Gates and as my friend said, "This should be posted in every school".
For those who don't know already, at the time I created this blog, I was no longer a bouncer. It was been brought to my attention that there are some rumors floating around that I lost that bouncer position due to the whole thing that happened with the racists and white pride profile deletions. FOR THE RECORD, Losing my position as bouncer had nothing to do with that in any way, shape or form. If it did, don't you think I'd have been deleted too? It's true that I had a couple of people on my friends list that had their beliefs that are considered questionable to say the least. But I do not condone nor tolerate racism or racist activity from anyone. Those that were on my friends list, they had never made a racist remark in my presence. If they had, they would have been deleted from my friends list and blocked immediately. I don't judge people by their race, color, creed, beliefs (religious or otherwise) or sexual preference. That's not my place or my way. As long as they show the same respect by not pushing their beliefs on me. Anyone who has interacted with me knows everything I've said here to be true. I give respect freely but I expect the same in return. Whatever these rumors about me have said, if they differ from what you've just read here, they are not true. As for the true reason for me losing my bouncer position...If you're really that interested, come and ask me. And if I see fit to tell you, then I will. I have no reason to lie about it.
