I gaze into a mirror as thoughts flutter around my mind.
If I gave you my hand would you trust me to lead you in the right direction?
When I calm you with my serene words do you trust that they are syllables of wisdom?
I am respected among my peers.
Does this entice you to trust the counsel I offer you?
What if my eyes were piercing, and my smile intriguing?
Are you defenses weakened, and your trust enhanced?
I will promise you a lifetime of tomorrows, and kiss you afterward ...
will your heart now break if my vows go unfulfilled?
Suppose you were alone on a dark & desolate highway, and I was a stranger offering a way to escape the stillness of the night.
Would you willingly seize that oppurtune moment?
We say we trust no one when actually we trust too much.
I look away but I am quickly drawn back.
