The Strength of A Man...

The strength of a man is not seen in the width of his shoulders, It`s seen in the width of his arms that circle you. The strength of a man is not in the deep tone of his voice, It`s in the gentle words he whispers. The strength of a man is not how many buddies he has, It`s how good a buddy he is with his kids. The strength of a man is not in how respected he is at work, It`s in how respected he is at home. The strength of a man is not in how hard he hits, It`s in how tender he touches. The strength of a man is not in the hair on his chest, It`s in his Heart ... that lies within his chest. The strength of a man is not how many women he has loved, It is how he can be true to one woman. The strength of a man is not in the weight he can lift, It`s in the burdens he can carry.

Two Horses...

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if you stop
your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His
owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for
him. This alone is amazing.

If you are nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell.
Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes
from the smaller horse in the field.

Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know
where she is, so he can follow her.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always
checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly
walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray.

When she returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops
occasionally and looks back, making sure her friend isn't too far behind
to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God do not throw us away just
because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when
we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell
of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide
horse, helping others see.

Good friends are like this. You don't always see them, but you know
they are always there. Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.

"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind
of battle."

Creativity is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift to God.

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,

"I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,"
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."

My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue.. an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..

Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."
"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."

"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.

For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

The Beauty Of A Woman...

The Beauty of a woman, isn't in the

clothes she wears. The figure that

she carries, or the way she combs her

hair.

The beauty of a woman is seen in her

eyes, because that's the doorway to

her heart, the place where love resides.

The true beauty in a woman, is reflected

by her soul. It's the caring that she gives,

and the passion that she shows.

And the beauty of a woman,

with passing years,

only grows...

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the
country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be
considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the
trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?" the
father  asked. "Oh Yeah" said the son. "So what did you learn from the
trip?" asked the father.

The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have
a  pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that
has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the
stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole
horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go
beyond  our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to
protect us, they have friends to protect them."

With this the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks
dad  for showing me how poor we are."

Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't
have.

What is one person's worthless object is another's prize possession. It
is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if
we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have, instead of worrying about
wanting more. Yes, it's all a matter of perspective.

I've heard it said before that the richest are not those with the most,
but  those who need the least.  Take joy in all you have, especially your
friends.

43 lessons that MUST be learned in relationships:

1. If a man wants you, nothing can keep him
away. If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
2. Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
3. If you have ANY doubt in your mind about a man's character, leave him alone.
4. Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
5. Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be.
6. Don't force an attraction.
7. Slower is better.
8. Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
9. If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no you can't "be friends." A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.
10. Don't settle.
11. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
12. If he keeps changing his mind about the relationship--take that as a BIG sign that he is unstable. Do you really want to be with a man like that?
13. Don't stay because you think "it will get better." You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things
are not better.
14. Honorable men take care of their business and aren't involved in a whole lot of mess.
15. The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

16. There's only one 'reason' a man dumps you; he doesn't want you.

17. You really do have to kiss a few frogs before finding the prince.
18. Always put yourself and your happiness first.
19. Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

21. Like from the show Sex and the City, if he doesn't call, he just isn't that interested.
22. Be honest and upfront.
23. Know when to cut the cord, don't be strung along.
24. Don't fall for the "I'm confused role". Remove yourself from the situation to let him figure things out (but don't wait for him, move on).
25. If you want to have a clue as to how he will treat you, watch how he treats the WOMEN in his family (not just mom).
26. There's more than physical abuse, there's emotional and mental abuse. If he causes any of them...flee.
27. You cannot change a man's behaviors. Change comes from within.
28. Don't let him place rules on you that he is not willing to follow himself -- double-standard.
29. Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has more education or in a better job.
30. Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

35. Never let a man define who you are.
36. Never borrow someone else's man.
37. If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.
38. Just because he says he loves you, doesn't mean that he won't hurt you and it doesn't mean that you are meant to be with him.
39. To use painful hard-won wisdom -- 'get it right' the next time.
40. Know that you deserve to be the ..1 person in the life of the ..1 person in your life.

Two Wolves...

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed
