"This is how it started.."
An innocent 9 year old girl, "ehem, that was me.." started reading pocketbooks... i had a favorite pocketbook which when i think of it now, had the cheeziest story i've ever read...the funny thing was, i've enjoyed reading that..it's true what they've said, "nothing beats the first time". as years passed by, my tastes & preferences have changed..that's only natural right?!!i like stories with innocent heroines..u-huh!!i like the love-is-lovelier-the-second-time-around- story best!!and now, i love historical or regency pocketbooks made by my fave author, patricia grasso!!!she's the best!!!
being a natural bookworm, (huh?!) i've read various tagalog romances..and i find them quite interesting if you may ask..i started reading martha cecilia & amanda's books..on my 4th year in highschool,i was bored shitless in our classroom and so i approached my classmate / friend carolyn sario - i will never forget her name coz she's the one who introduced me to this exceptional author- eve montelibano.. and asked her if i can borrow a pocketbook..she gave me a pocketbook bearing a black cover..i was so curious so i brought it home with me.after reading it, i was like flabbergasted..shock is an understatement.. i couldn't believe that it was created by a filipino author but it was there right before my eyes..a filipino sounding surname..she resembles patricia grasso's style of writing..
i remember my highschool days, when i used to influence my friends to read pb's (pocketbooks) we call the s-e-x part "energetic" so it won't be obvious..hmm..i really miss those good old days..now, my bestfriend angelique querol is a pb addict!!!hahaha!!!thanks to me...
to all frustrated writers out there..believe in yourself.. longlive the pb spirit!!!hek, hek!!
