while cruising the news sites while her boss was busy, my mother stumbled across an article on KSDK about a pair of songwriters, one from Indiana (a real Hoosier) and the other from Saskatchewan (that's Canada for those of you that don't know Canada). they moved here and have since written a song about the bizarre quirks St Louis is known for. here are the lyrics and their video.

hypothetical situation.

someone is overweight. they are convinced they're beautiful
and there is nothing wrong with their body. do you agree with them ?

the correct answer is no.

let us define sadism. 
sadism is the act of causing pain to others and enjoying it. 

let us define masochism.
masochism is the act of receiving pain and enjoying it.

let us define pain and harm as it applies to this scenario.
being overweight causes damage to the body. particularly the vital organs.
the circulatory system is singled out for a high amount of damage.
arterial walls cake with cholesterol and the heart strains to pump blood.
psycho-emotional damage is common but not always associated.

so we can conclude that being overweight is being in a state of damage and pain. 
being overweight is visible to the human eye, so ignorance cannot be documented.
except in special cases of overweight blindness. but even the blind can feel their own bodies. again, such special cases are highly uncommon to this evaluation.
we now move on to the overweight's conception of themselves.

the overweight knows that he/she is overweight. it is visible and health risk information is available to them. they not only ignore the damage they are causing to themselves by being overweight and not acting to correct to problem. they go further, and convince themselves to believe an elaborate lie. one that states they are beautiful and there is nothing wrong with them. this lie impedes them from addressing the problem and correcting the state of damage. convincing oneself that he/she is beautiful is a state of positivity. endorphins are present during thoughts such as this. the overweight person enjoys telling themselves that they're beautiful and "everything is just fine with my body". by associative logic we conclude that the overweight person enjoys the pain they're causing. this pain is caused to themselves thru their lack of inaction to the damaging state they are in. let us move to the encourager.

the encourager may or may not be overweight. if they are overweight, then they have first-hand understanding of the damage being overweight causes. if they are not overweight then the obvious difference can be seen. the overweight experience difficulties that the encourager does not. conclusions can be drawn once visible difficulty is shown. but regardless, the encourager still has the same level of access to the risks that being overweight causes. so the encourager is aware of the state of damage and pain that the overweight person is in. 

we have concluded that both the overweight and his/her encourager understand that overweight equals a state of pain and damage. the overweight is allowing their pain to continue and enjoying the lie they are telling themselves. thus enjoying their overweight state. so they are masochistic. 

the encourager participates in this masochism by re-enforcing the lie and agreeing that the overweight is a "beautiful and unique snowflake". both of them feel good when they agree with each other about the overweight's lack of any problem. agreement is a state of mental calm and pleasure. endorphins can also be cited here. by assisting in the overweight's damage and pain, the encourager is playing sadist to the masochist. 

the correct answer is no.
agreeing with an overweight person's self image, 
when it is one that they are beautiful and healthy, 
is an act of sadism.

I have returned. After an eternity away from you all, prettyface is back. It's time to reconnect with old friends and  establish a new, larger network of friends to support me and push me into the high levels. I'll be satisfied with Godfather but i know it'll take forever. I look nothing like i used to, so a lot of you may not remember me. But in time, you'll learn to love me all over again.
