The hidden
If beauty’s in the eyes of its beholder
When I awoke I should have been blind
For the beauty that I sought to behold
Is one that shall never be mine’s?
For beauty has a dark secret
One which it will not reveal
It seems it knows not how to love
And it doesn’t know what to feel
Instead it moves in silence
Like creatures that stir in the night
It appears when all is quite
Then vanishes at dawns first light
Maybe it lurks on the inside?
Afraid to show its true form
Maybe it s just an illusion
Could it be that beauty has died
Beauty took a hold of me
The next thing I knew I was hooked
But this beauty really became the beast
More frightening then the one in the book
It’s the beauty we see on the outside
That captures us from the start
It’s the ugliness that beauty reveals
That will tear your heart apart
