We sit here in our comfortable houses and enjoy our TV, our cars, free time at the local bar, community theatre, friends and family. They are there in the blistering heat, or arctic cold waiting for something to go wrong and to fix it for us. We do not even think about it and don't want to know.

There are some things that you do and don't do. They are told to do those things and are encouraged to like it so that they are desensitized to the brutality that they have to endure.

Some politicians think of our troops as dollars in their wallets. Then again if they were like dollars in their wallets then we would not be where we are. He would know how precious each one is to them and would not want to part with a single one. Instead they spends them like our hard earned tax money that they know is not theirs, but spend the lives of our troops like they will not run out.
Our troops, like a well, seem like it will never run dry. With each bucket the well is just a little less full than the time before. Eventually the well will run dry and then where will we be? When are you, Mr. Politician, going to send one of your friend's child or grand child to do that which you won't do yourself?

I thank you for doing that which I do not do. I thank you for being in that well waiting to be called up and give your life for me. I think that it is too high a price for you to pay for college. I know that you are a volunteer for many different reasons, be it to go to college or to just be apart of the country we love. It is too high a price for you to loose your life, but you chose that and I thank you. I love you.

We will be here to welcome you back home. We will be ready to let you rest for as long or as little as you need. We will also be ready to morn our loss of you and ready to celebrate your life that you gave for us. No questions will be asked for we are just happy that you are back.

I will honor you for what you have done. I will honor you for what you did not do. I will honor you for putting foot down when others would not. You are our troops, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, fathers, mothers, and friends. Thank you from the whole of my heart.
