Personally, I do not feel that guns are the issue. Anyone who wants to do harm to another will find a way. I have no problem with teachers carrying (if they want to) assuming they have had some sort of class. A lot of states require a class to learn the laws and proficiency testing before you can carry a firearm. I had to file documents to release my medical records (mental health and physical health) plus the background checks and this isn't counting the 10 pages of questions and interview with county sheriffs office. This is all just to carry a fire arm. Buying one requires a whole different permit in my state. This took about 8 months. I think a simpler solution to the problem is to hire x military and x cops to walk the halls during school hours. Give them mental health check ups testing to make sure they know how to use a firearm and know the laws of the state, or some sort of paper work from there past job showing they can safely operate a firearm. Most of the xmilitary folks I have talked to would do it for free. Some already have permits to carry so that would take the need for testing away. I would be more than willing to walk the halls of my child's school. I think the biggest problem is a lack of parents teaching there kids respect and good morals. I hope this don't start a huge fight, that is far from my goal. Just sharing my thoughts on the topic. God bless and be safe!
