Every Hobo needs only two things in order to survive: a Santa Clause and a Soap-box. If you give a Hobo a soap-box, he will give you his Santa Clause--This profile provides me with both.)As a writer aspiring for success, I don't want to set out a specific goal to reach. I know from past experiences--I've been an addict, a bum and an all-around loathsome person--that our world is bi-Polar. Fundamentally, there are two types of people in a bi-Polar world; there are Nooks and there are Purgs. Nooks are the has-beens who need a nook from reality. Purgs are never-weres and their nook is in the future. Marshal McLuhan once said "Tomorrow is our permanent address." Personally, I accept this McLuhanism more than any of his others--and there are a LOT of them. In a bi-Polar world, Tomorrow is our permanent address and Yesterday is not only our permanent compass, but our personal sender as well. With that in mind, is it safe to assume that all of us in the Present are merely disreguarded Hobos? If so, what can all of us Hobos learn from this? We can learn that in a bi-polar world, ours is not a choice, but an ultimatum. We can either *return to sender* or we can ~*Forward Mail to New Recipient*~. The path that we choose in this ultimatum defines what we are; If we select to *Return to Sender* we are has-beens--Nooks--who need a nook from reality. If we ~*Forward Mail to New Recipient*~ we are Purgs, and our Nook is in the Future...In a bi-Polar world, lines are drawn either in sand or in distinction, but only the Truest Nook and the Purest Purg can see them for what they really are. You can't be half of anything and expect to live a life without some sort of hole right through the middle of you. Welcome to the Premainders!
