For a gal who's not fickle,
I'd risk being in a pickle.
If she were sweet and kind,
We'd share a long unwind.
Peace is a deep abiding love,
sent to us all by heaven above.
Why we have wars, I don't know,
But they cause an awful mess here below.
Why wonder about the light of life,
soon snuffed out by the enduring strife?
Why take away the beauties of love,
delivering the bearer to heaven above.
Once upon a rainbow, early in my sojourn,
I considered the joys and dreams I'd mourn.
Had I but known of all these things then,
A sad and disillusioned child among men,
A poets soul, A dreamers mind I ken.
As "Reap the Wild Wind" was a playing,
I saw the world as a place of slaying.
The pain of loss and threats of care,
With my new and long-time love I'd share.
