What are you waiting for?

Keep the Dream Alive

The morning light creeps wearily across my face as I stir to the sound of dreams fading in the distance. My head rolls to the left and I half imagine your face there; eyes sleepily opening to welcome me into your morning, that early day smile slowly unfolding as your hand touches my face, setting my body on fire. I reach out to you, to channel my heat but a cloud appears in your place, the smile fades into the swirling mist and your touch becomes nothing more than the air that passes over my flesh. You aren't there...

But, I still can dream

Chapter 1

SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE (Introduction)

I can’t remember the time, or the day I came back. I know it was in November; the air cold and crisp making my hands ache. I sat idly by, waiting in anticipation for the flight to depart from Boston but it would be some time before I was boarding. I opened my laptop, hunkered down in the corner hijacking the Airports Wi-Fi and power. They won’t miss it.

I came across it when I checked my emails. It was a place I thought I had forgotten and it occurred to me that I should check it out.

I logged in and was blown away how long I had been gone.

I couldn’t close the page now; I was back.

For hours, it seemed, I glanced at the faces and names of people I didn’t know; people who didn’t know me. I am not one to just assume people recognized me so I began my searching.

That’s when I saw her.

As I glanced at the flashing images of individuals quarrying for points and virtual affection, I saw those eyes. I was drawn immediately to the clarity and alluring gesture to “Come hither”, like the Siren’s song luring me towards the reef, and, of course, I did.

When I arrived, I was surrounded by bright text and images that were extremely seductive and sensual. I couldn’t think of anything else but those eyes. Even in the middle of all that ranting and perverted innuendos, I saw the text. I read the words that were in front of me and the powerful truth and realism caught my attention. I looked at her face and stared into those pools of crystalline beauty and had to seek more.

So I entered.

When I think back now, I can’t recall exactly what it was that truly enticed me to enter. I read those words and truly wanted to know more but the way those eyes burned through my cold heart ignited my curiosity. Rows and rows of images sped past my screen and I was consumed by the simplicity of each picture. Nothing appeared to be perverted or too provocative that would warrant the derogatory comments of others earlier. I saw that face,

I was instantly transported to a dream –like stare as I saw that smile. It wasn’t huge and toothy like most, but it was gentle and soft but ever so slight. “I wonder why she doesn’t smile much?” I thought to myself.  I continued through other folders of images and saw them; her children. They were beautiful and happy, full of light and the glow of love and it warmed me to see them. She must be proud and loved by them very much.

I am a very self-conscious person due to certain things that happened to me in my life, and I am not one to reach out to a woman who, in my opinion, is unreachable. Her beauty and her life seemed to me to be an amazing journey and I had nothing to compare it with. What could I offer this woman to reach to her?

Her children.

I began gathering images of her children and created such images that captured their beauty and innocents. Using my creativity, I produced a gift for her. “Now what?” I thought. “What do I do with it?” I proceeded to gather my nerve and approach her with this offering. I can’t recall my words, exactly but I sent her a message. In my words that I do recall, I simply put “Hugz&Stuff”.

I could feel the pulse racing through my chest and knew that my anticipation for acceptance was going to drive me insane. I walked around for awhile, checking the clock and watching the others roaming aimlessly through the terminal. Then there was that sound.

I had a message.
