I've seen 'coupon books' for lovers--the little booklets with certificates that can be redeemed for such things as back massages, dinners, etc.
A friend told me he got such coupons from his girlfriend, and they included a few coupons for oral sex. My friend claimed that he loved the coupons, that he looked forward to using them, that--even though they've since broken up--he's considered asking her if they're still redeemable. Granted, the latter comment was made in jest, but this conversation left me wondering...
Is sex like a currency? Is sex something that should be used as a trade in some kind of quasi-market transaction? Or does treating sex in this manner make sex less fun, less satisfying, less... well... sexy? Does the fact that you're having sex--or giving oral sex--because a coupon entitles someone to it make the experience less special, less pleasurable?
