Ok, so I've been really bad about keeping this blog updated. OK, OK, I know, I haven't even posted to this one. Anyway... I started school in January. Was supposed to be taking 18 credits, but the school cancelled one of my classes for low enrollement. No biggie, it was just a medical math class. That dropped me down to 17 credits. Ok, I can handle that. Even though most students don't take more than 12-14 per term when going full time.
Well, two of the classes I was enrolled in were only half term classes, so I finished those at the halfway mark. Two more classes were full term classes, but I finished them early at the mid-term mark as well. Ok, so that gave me 8 credits that I already earned - WOOHOO!!
Then they posted the schedule for spring term. Uh oh. There's a problem. Two of the classes I was supposed to take during spring term are only being offered at one time during the term. Of course, one of the classes is a prerequisite for the other. But the program advisor for my major said as long as I took both in the same term, she would approve it. Now, it's kind of hard to take TWO classes that are at the same time on the same days. What does that mean? I had to add the short class to my schedule for this term. But we are already a week into the class... and there's a holiday. So by the time I'm able to get into the class, they are a week and a half into it. That was last Wednesday, the 18th of February. Well, turns out, it was a VERY easy class for me, and I took my last two tests in the class yesterday, the 25th of February. So it's all done now - YAY!!!
Now I have completed 10 credits, only 9 more to go. So far, I've got a 4.0 GPA, and I'm hoping to keep it that way. I have been working really hard to do good.
As for next term, I'm not sure what I am going to do. Now I am down to 14 credits, and my schedule looks pretty wimpy in comparison to this term. Oh well.
Also, a few of my instructors have talked to me about potentially changing my major. Currently my major is Medical Transcription - which is a great career - especially if I work for a hospital. But they are wanting me to pursue getting a teaching degree. Because of my mastery of the classes I have taken so far, and my retention of the knowledge, as well as my willingness to help other students. I forgot to mention, I was ASKED by the department head if I would tutor for the department - because they don't have anyone available at this point. So I am signed up and just waiting for people to start asking for help.
