SHADOW CREEK one day while burning bridges i looked upon a creek i saw a faint reflection it was staring back at me it looked at me so clearly as if it knew me from the past as if it were my shadow i was familiar with its glance i looked across the creek so tempted by this glance i saw a shadowed figure it had dirt upon its hands it wasn't soil from earth but from a life so cold and damp this shadow was a sickness this shadow from my past it walked across the creek and stared me face to face i was burning all its bridges destroying all its trace a doppelganger, maybe its eyes were dark and glazed i saw my own reflection the one that i create i handed him the matches with an understanding face this shadow is a part of me its my life that it creates one day while burning bridges i looked across a creek i saw a shadows reason it was written on my face
