Storms
Storms come in all types and sizes
Leaving you filled with surprises
While others fill you with wonder
Giving you so much to ponder
Some storms are big
Some storms are small
Some storms will test you
Just to see if you fall
The challenge is to find a way
To get past the gloom
And keep on fighting
Until there is brightness of a new day
You may never see it coming
It could be right in front of your face
It could be another time
Maybe another place
Things happen for a reason
At least that is what they say
Just when you think it's all over
You start out in a different way
A whole new way to look at things
A different destination ahead
A brand new outlook may do the trick
One that will help clear your head
Sometimes we meet our storms head on
And some we try to go around
It is a choice that we make with a lot of thought
And in the end hope we can be found
I have seen a lot in my time on this patch of dirt.In the 20 years that I spent in the Marine Corps, I have seen people without fear march into the face of their enemy. Some have come home in one piece while others came home broken and battered. I have come close to meeting my maker more then a couple of times only to watch as someone that took my place did not return. It is on this day just like every other day I pay my respects to those that Gave Their All so that I could live and fight on another day. Semper Fi my firends.
