Anybody who knows me knows that I love to laugh and kid around. I have been friends with alot of people over the years, but really close to only a few. If you check my friends list on here my second "family" member is Tranquil...I have only known her since the beginning of the year, but we have gotten really close. It's one of those friendships where you meet someone and by the end of the week, its as if you've known them forever and you can't remember a time in your life that they weren't there. In the span of a few short months her and I have become really REALLY close. We do almost everything together. We even work together. She has a massage therapy practice, and I essentially work for her. She also started process serving and we've begun to do that together too. Partly for safety reasons, and partly for the fact that I'm not sure she could find her way around the county if I wasn't there to read the maps and be her GPS. LOL......Her boyfriend goes with her when I can't, but she says he's no fun and if he doesn't start making her laugh, she's going to make him wear a wig and a set of big boobs so she can at least have a visual that I'm there!! There are times we've laughed so hard we've had to pull off the road to compose ourselves.
On our first two ventures out into the world of court papers and those who try to avoid receiving them, we came across the Texas Chainsaw house, the Wrong turn house, the house that belongs to Cujo and oh yes, the house that was protected by the miniature attack husband. We've learned little tricks of the trade and how to do stakeouts to get our man, or woman or couple.... So far, the only ones we've failed at are the people who've moved and thanks to a little research we've gotten a couple of them too.
The Texas Chainsaw House was probably the most adventurous to date. I couldn't convince her that the blood on the grill outside the back door came from meat that they had grilled. She was convinced that the massive amounts of blood could only have come from a dismembered human that had been made into shishkabobs and served to guests or family members for dinner.
She's also come across the lizard house and a few other places that she absolutely refuses to go to alone.
It's a fun job, even though we do feel for the people we're serving. At one point, both her and I have been in their shoes and we know what they're going through. On the upside for us, we get to spend hours upon hours together, cruising the highways and biways of Western Michigan, much like Thelma and Louise. My next and most important job is to teach her that those highways have numbers assigned to them. That way she will know when I say to take I96 at a certain exit, she'll be able to relate to it a little more than when she says "You mean that big highway that goes East and West???" I have gotten her to remember to put the vehicle in park when she gets out of it now, so that's a plus!!
