Reasons to Boycott Valentine’s Day
1. Love should be a 365 day a year thing. Everyone likes to be shown throughout the year that they are cared for.
2. It puts a lot of pressure on individuals. Did I spend too much or not enough? We just started dating do I get her/him something? Omg I forgot I need to pick something up on the way home so they won’t be mad. (p.s. guys we know when you make those last minute stops...no pressure lol).
3. Girls hardly ever know what to get their man... Seriously when you think of Valentine’s Day you think flowers candy going out to dinner. Who usually does that stuff? The guy does. There is only one thing a woman really thinks to give a man not like he would be complaining lol; however that is another thing that should be done all year. Why spice it up for that day? Isn't it more romantic if you surprise your significant other than for them to already know what’s coming?
4. Another day you should be staying off the roads. Well if you are a couple going out to dinner you are bound to be having a couple of drinks. At least of wine this is certainly ok... However then you have the people who are either getting seriously depressed who decide to drown their sorrows at the local pub with a bottle and a bartender named bill. Oh and let’s not forget the few but very vocal groups of women who get together for an anti-valentines day party. They are definitely not ones you want to meet on the road when they get through the night.
5. For the women seriously how many stuffed animals do we need? Really chocolate? It's a great thought but then all you’re doing is worrying about the extra calories or weight you may have gained the days after. So yes get me a box of chocolates today so I can complain for the next month about losing weight. LOL
6. The lonely people. It makes them more depressed that they don't have anyone to share the day with. Especially, if they just have separated from their partner and are no longer in a relationship. Do you know this is one of the biggest days for suicides every year? I said one of not the biggest. So now it’s a day you have to worry about your friend and if they are going to be ok. Then feel guilty because your best friend is home alone while you are out with your partner.
7. Takes away the meaning behind a lot of things. Roses for instance... They are completely over rated and have lost their meaning because on this day that’s what’s expected. The florist practically throws them at ya when you walk in the store. What used to mean "I really love you” now means "Here this is what I was supposed to get you right?” So because men just give them to give them anymore they just don't have that special meaning if you were to get them from someone another time during the year.
8. The price of everything goes sky high!! Roses, candy, wine. Lingerie, jewelry heck even the restaurants up there prices.
9. The pressure some guys must feel to propose. Some guys have been with their girl a while or maybe not even that long and of course you’re sitting there together watching TV. and what pops up? A Jared’s Jewelry commercial with the guy giving his girl a ring asking her to marry him with the rose and Happy Valentine's Day stuff all over. Of course every girl who is not married when they see a proposal whether it be on TV or in real life get that feeling. It could be a mix of anxiety, happiness, and hopefulness. She starts talking about it... Course she can't help it around this time of year it’s on TV. billboards, newspaper ads it is everywhere. So the guy gets pressured and the woman gets her hopes up. *Note I am only saying this about this day of the year* 8 out of 10 times the guy is either going to get a ring because he feels obligated and not be ready that day to do it or he will be smart and wait in which case the woman is really disappointed and can't help but show it so you both feel bad.
*Personally, I would never want a guy to ask me to marry him on this day because I want him to do it when he is comfortable and not because he felt obligated to do so.
10. Competition... Days before Guys--- "What did you get your girl?" Someone in that case is going to feel they have to do more because they know if their girls are friends the---Day after Girls---What did your man get for you? Guys just so you know girls will always ask their friends what they did on Valentine's Day. So whatever their friend says they got or did will determine her mood the next day. She will be either happy because you outdid or were equal to what her friends man did or uh oh she is depressed because her friends man apparently cares more about his girl then you do yours. Don't believe me watch and see. LOL
11. Last but not least, the only people that you can 100% guarentee will be happy this Valentine's Day are the following: Florists, Candy companies, Jewlers, Department Stores, Restaurant owners , anyone associated with the previous. Oh and let us not forget good old Uncle Sam.
Ok so in conclusion here is some advice from yours truly. If you are a Valentine's Day fan, don't go overboard on this day. Have a nice romantic dinner at home with just the two of you and some candle light with some soft music in the background. Or go on out to eat and enjoy each other’s company. Don't cave to the Commercial Holiday pressure.
Make sure you show the one you love all year round that you care. Those "For no reason" cards and flowers are so much more meaningful then the "Because it’s what I am supposed to do" ones. As well as the surprise nights for your partner... wink wink... Those are definitely a lot better when they are unscheduled.

Ok, so this blog is not going to be my usual spicy and evil little self.
I was sitting looking out the window yesterday, listening to the sounds of the crickets chirping outside. I sat and thought about where my life is going and all the people who have recently entered within my little world.
I have met some wonderful people in my lifetime, but never ones like the ones I know now. When I had first came to visit this family they took me in as one of their own. No questions asked. This family has already given me so much. Not material wise. I am speaking of internally.
I wish all families had the bond and strength as the one in which I am speaking of. I have never before seen such love, togetherness, strength, and forgivness as in this family. In today's society, unfortunatly most people are to busy with their own little lives then to worry about another. However, this family realizes the meaning of the word family. They are how are generations from the past used to be. What many of us have seem to forgotten because the world rushes past us.
I have to say I envy them for what they have and thank them for letting me see a glimse of it all. I could only wish that my family had the same kind of bond and connection as this one. It is most definetly how I would like to raise my children. I want my children to know that family is all you really have in the end.
Above the money, material goods, friends and jobs you have family. All the other things come and go in your life. But family is there forever. I just wish more people would realize that and hold tight to the ones that they have.
So to this family and they know who they are.... I want you to know that what you have is very special. It is what most people long for. Don't ever forget that. I love each and everyone of you. No matter where the road leads us from here you and the impact that you have had on me will forever live inside of me.
