Duke Boomington's blog: "the good, the bad, the ugly"

You know, I am just about tired of all this racial crap they claim is going on toward the black people. Enough already. Is it our fault that the prisons are a majority black? Did we force them to go rob the convenience store, or to rape the woman, or to shoot someone for drug money, to sell drugs or take drugs? It takes more energy and effort to break the law than to sit at home and drink a beer and watch TV. You want to talk discrimination? Let’s talk about the white male for a second. As a business owner I am forced to hire someone black or I am discriminating against them regardless if they are qualified or not. In sports owners are forced to interview black coaches for head coach positions regardless of their credentials. In college you can get a scholarship based on race unless you are a white male. Hell you can’t even get a scholarship for being a smart white male hardly anymore. We have a black history month talking about all the black people have done in the world. Ok let’s talk about some others. How about Ben Franklin who discovered electricity. Kind of vital to doing other things I would think. How about Thomas Edison who made the light bulb. Fairly important discovery. How about good ole Abe Lincoln who freed the slaves in the first place. How come we don’t honor his birthday as a national holiday? Then there is Thomas Savery who patented the first working steam engine that went on to power boats and trains for moving products as well as people around the world. What about Maria Sk³odowska-Curie who found the vaccine for polio. I rank this as pretty important. One of my favorite presidents, Franklin Roosevelt who led this nation from the great depression and help pioneer a lot of the social programs alive in the USA today in some shape form or manner. Oh lets not forget Alexander Graham Bell who invented the telephone who we all know is alive and well in masses today. These are just a few of the many great people in the history of the world who don’t get national holidays for their hard work. If you want equality in the world, start treating all of us as equal. No one man is better than me or me him based on their race. Back to a black history month for a minute. What about a history month for the Italian, Czech, & Irish that is my heritage? My ancestors did not have it easy yet they made it work for them. Quit cramming all this racial crap down my throat and everyone else’s throat and maybe some progress could be made. If they don’t want to be stereotyped then by God quit living up to it. Pull your pants up, speak proper English, take the gold teeth out of your mouth, drive a normal vehicle without all the stupid crap added to them, and treat people with respect. Respect is not given it is earned. Then maybe you might find people treat you like a person when you start acting like one. Quit waiting for handouts and go earn it for yourself like people in the past have and a lot of people do today. Maybe at one point there was a time for affirmative action, but that time has come and gone. People today primarily are concerned with the bottom dollar not the skin color. Now that may not be true for everyone but it is for most I would imagine. Call me a racist if you want to but I am just being realistic. Maybe you share my views maybe you don’t but I think I make a good argument.
