This is the REAL DEAL about me. The way I feel is that people grow very fast on the outside, but your soul and your heart is what I want to know and come to understand. Maturity in a man comes not from chronological age, but rather from his mental state of being. A man becomes a man when he has taken the time to get to know himself. To understand not only who he is but, what he represents and where he is going in life. Once a person has done that initial groundwork, then and only then, can they embark on the journey of a lifetime. For life is a journey, not a destination. It is what you choose to make of it that will determine your quality of life. I know who I am and where I'm going in this life, and that's a GREAT FEELING.

I am looking for someone who is outgoing and confident, a bit edgy, but doesn't take herself too seriously. Someone who likes to travel and try new things. I need to be challenged mentally by my partner. There is nothing more attractive to me than an intelligent woman who can broaden my horizons and teach me a thing or two. Someone who can think on their feet and keep my on me toes! I'm interested in a woman who is grounded. Someone who understands who they are and what they need and can give in a relationship. Someone who loves their family and embraces people in their life. Interested in finding someone as comfortable in jeans as they are in designer clothing.
I'm looking to create a foundation where "we" can build a relationship for years to come. We should become best friends, and share a lot of the same values and goals. A soul mate is ultimately my destination where there are boundaries to an open-minded relationship (that seems contradicting, huh?)

Dating in this day and age is really no different then that of yesteryear.
OK, so today we are a lot more tolerable of dating preferences, or are we?
But all in all the basics are still the same. Love, understanding, forgiveness, communication, trust, and mutual respect are all we need. Just be yourself, don't let the pressures of society determine your happiness. The saddest phrases I have ever heard are..." If I only had a second chance" or " I wish." I, myself, have been there. I have been through the trials and tribulations. I have let go of people I really cared for. I hope that will never happen again. As it is said, all things happen for a reason. So for now I have to trust that the reason was that there is someone out there better suited for me.

What I am looking for is very simple. I am not looking for someone to make my life, but rather someone to enhance what already exists. I am not looking for the Taj Mahal; I can buy that on my own. What I am seeking is a woman who in mind, body, and soul will walk hand in hand with me through the good times and the bad. An intellectual type, professional by trade and who can carry an intellectual and/or philosophical conversation. A woman who can go from jeans to a dress and feel comfortable in either. Most importantly a woman who has very strong family values. Trust me when I say that I am not desperate. I have and will continue to lead a very happy and prosperous life with someone or without. I have my standards and will not settle. I have done the AOL dating thing…not again!! As brutal as it may sound I have yet to meet one woman that was as real in person as she claimed to be. I am not looking to date the world, maybe just one woman who can JUST BE HERSELF. Ideally, I would like to find someone who challenges me to remain active - both mentally and physically. Most importantly, I am looking for someone with a kind heart, positive spirit, curious mind, and good sense of humor. Good hygiene, the ability to communicate openly and honestly and challenge me to do the same, and a touch of romance will be accepted too.

spontaneity, blended with some romantic inclinations and the ability to appreciate the little things in life that are free to enjoy, like the feel of freshly mowed grass under your bare feet in the summer, laying on a blanket and finding the hidden pictures in the clouds, the first flowers of spring, the wind on your face that makes your nose cold. A woman who can make things happen, who can get me laughing when everything seems to be falling apart. Someone who can lay down beside me...but yet stand up to me too...gentle and tender when the moment requires it...and tough when required as well. Affectionate and romantic (loves to touch my hair, hold my hand, steal a kiss in public); thoughtful; communicative and nurturing; a great listener; is not intimidated by a confident and bright man, passionate about living and of course.... me. And: How might I describe an ideal relationship? Partners who bring out the best in each other and recognize that a life long love affair requires DAILY nurturing. The little things to show affection, desire and tenderness mean everything. I intend to flirt with my lady for the rest of my life...and she with me...it is way too much fun not to.... I've had a relationship of intellectual, emotional and physical chemistry...but add the soul...the spiritual...now that thought takes my breath away.... I believe it is necessary to have similar backgrounds and common interests...including issues of faith and moral upbringing.
