The Wiz's blog: "Poems"

OKAY, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! I wear on my sweater a long orange tag with the words "Pedestrians have rights" on it. It's a part of a program called the Orange Initiative, here at the University of Utah. I don't go here, but I hang out at the University alot. The reason I wrote what I wrote is that I often walk, about six or eight miles a day. When I try to cross some streets, I get mad and fearful at the same time - the signal says I can walk, but the cars "posture" or the way people run their cars says "Get out of my way". Often the people's faces tell the same tale. I am NOT in someone's way. Whoever said it was "Your" way was wrong! Noone owns the right to go wherever they want, whenever they want, regardless of other cars and people - not in a city like the one I live in. So, I turn and watch and the drivers threaten, sometimes not meaning to I know, but nonetheless threaten to run me over. There's a reason pedestrians have the right to cross before cars. Pedestrians are slower, and more fragile. And we still have the right, despite not having a car or currently being in a car, to CROSS THE STREET WITHOUT BEING THREATENED! Okay, end of rant - thanks for reading, I feel better now.

Why do we hurry so endlessly hurrying trying to save one more minute! Why do we hurry so traveling, scurrying trying to get where we go... Why do we have so much traffic? People can move without cars... Why do we have so much anger? Life could be lived without scars! Why do we hurry so endlessly hurrying trying to save some more... time!

Time passes on, soon we know it will be gone So we try to carry on, we will try, and carry on It is time that we begin to lives our lives that we may win Reviewing lesson that were taught through our lives, with careful thought With careful thought.
