There are times in our lives
We feel much like
A flower struggling to bloom
We go through those times
Of change and growth
Like a caterpillar in a cocoon

Nobody can see
The Lord's hidden work
Until the day we break through
Then we can begin
To spread out our wings
And arise as butterflies do

God has a much higher
Calling for us
And wants us to rise up in Him
We can make such a difference
If we'd only realize
The potential we have within

So allow the Lord
To work in your life
To make you all you can be
So you will one day
Be able to soar
And know what it means to be 'FREE'

Little Bird

Little Bird
Written by ,Marsha C Wohlhieter

There's a little bird that perches
On my front porch near my door
He sings to me a sweet song
Of the days that came before.

He brings to mind our childhood
And the games we used to play
How we thought we'd live forever
And that things would never change.

He sings of friends and family
Of good times and of bad
He sings of joy and sorrow
And the triumphs that we've had.

There's a little bird that perches
On my front porch near my door
He sings to me a sad song
Of the days to be no more

He sings to me of special times
When some we will not see.
And the plans we made together
That simply said were not to be.

There's a little bird that perches
On my front porch near my door.
He sings to me memories
Made so recent ...
And then wait there is more!

This little bird that perches
On my front porch near my door
He sings to me a promise
of days that are yet to come.

He sings to me of joy
And the things I've left undone
He reminds me I must keep going
Until my work is done.

He tells me not to worry
That I do not walk alone
To stop and smell the roses
Each one a scent of it's own.

He tells me to remember
The details of each day.
To share the stories and memories
As I go along the way.

For when my time is finished
These times that we've been through
Will serve to guide and comfort
Maybe one or two.

So little bird that perches
On my front porch near my door.
Sing to me your sweet songs
And stay here evermore.

Light Of Friendship

I've seen the light
And it's in you,
In everything you are
And in everything you do.

It's a perfect light
That shines for all to see
It radiates from you
And has pierced the heart of me.

The light is from a friend.
It's a light that keeps me warm
It lets me know how loved I am
And keeps me safe from harm

To you my friend I am thankful,
In each and every way
For you lift my spirits up,
With every passing day

To know that you are there for me
It makes me feel alive
Because it is your friendship's light
Upon which my love thrives.

"Thank you" isn't good enough
But they're the only words I know
It is your light of friendship
That gives my world it's glow.

He Is Always There

We can't foresee the turning of the tide
When problems beset us and tears are cried.
Sometimes life deals from the bottom of the deck
Filling us with worry and leaving us a wreck.

The enemy seeks to devour and destroy,
Using deceptions to eliminate our joy.
While walking through the valley, our heads hung low,
The mountain top seems so high, our footsteps slow.

How many times have we traveled this road
To battle the frustrations of troubles bestowed?
Yet when we come to our darkest hour
God demonstrates His infinite power.

It doesn't matter how bad things might seem,
He always comes through, our faith to redeem.
God will not fail us in our times of pain.
He'll never forsake us, by our side He'll remain.

So when we find ourselves at a total loss
Or when the valley seems too wide to cross,
Just remember you're in His love and care,
Look over your shoulder, He's always there!

Always There

Hello God, I called tonight
To talk a little while...
I need a friend who'll listen,
To my anxieties and trials...

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep
My family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence,
For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things,
I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home,
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice,
When I stumble and fall.

Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening,
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You, too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

Hugs From Heaven

When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From a loved one way up high

If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They've added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose

If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From someone special up above

If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird's chirping song
It's music sent from Heaven
To cheer you all day long

If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It's a hug sent from Heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace

So keep the joy in your heart
If you're lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from Heaven
A broken heart will mend

A Soldiers Poem

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

Your lips gently press against mine
A silent submission of tongues intertwined
My mouth tenderly presses against yours
My voice trembles as you start to explore...

Electric shocks as your tongue touches mine
An erotic dance of passing time
My heart's racing as fast as yours
My body's craving for something more!

Starving and Craving
For an evening
Of erotic bliss
Where dreams come true
With the sweetest Kiss.

Embracing Imperfections

When I was a little girl, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular, when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned toast in front of my Dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my Dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my Mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my Dad for burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: Baby, I love burned toast.
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, Your Momma put in a hard day at work today, and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!
You know, life is full of imperfect things......and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or cook. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker! We could extend this to any relationship in fact - as understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."

A Great Poem

I was shocked, confused, and bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door;
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp -
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?"
God must've made a mistake.
"And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber? Give me a clue."
"Hush child, " He said, "they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd see you!"
JUDGE NOT!
