Got a call from my three year old daughters teacher yesterday...
ME: Hello.
TEACHER: Good evening. I'm calling to inform you that your daughter was very disruptive in class today.
ME: Not again... Can you tell me what happened?
TEACHER: We were learning Mary Had A Little Lamb. Your daughter got very excited when she heard the news and told the class this was her very favortie song. When I started singing the first part however, her mood changed. She crossed her arms and told me very loudly to stop because I was doing it wrong. When I asked her what she meant, she informed me that it is supposed to start with "Stevie Ray playing his guitar for a while before he sings."
ME: (begins laughing hysterically)
TEACHER: She also told me that I got the words wrong when I said the lamb's fleece was white as snow, because "Stevie Ray says Black as coal, yeah, NOT white as snow."
ME: (trying to stop laughing so that I can apologize for the disruption - FAILING)
After several minutes and some deep breaths, I eventually explained (between snickers) that Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of Mary Had A Little Lamb is one of my daughters favorite songs and she listens to it almost every morning on her way to Grandma's house. I apologized for the disruption and told the teacher that I would talk to my daughter about the situation.
Needless to say, my daughter will NOT be punished for this outburst!!
In my dreams, I am still with you
And we hold each other tight
When the world outside seems bleak and dark
Your beauty is the light
You look up at me and we both grin
My thoughts escape me as I stare
Mesmerized, hypnotized,
By the beauty that I see there
You are stunning in every way
Your voice, your eyes, your smile
I can’t help but feel the way I do
I wish this moment would last a while
I wrap my arms around you
And feel you lean into my chest
Your lips alight, soft on my skin
Of all my dreams, this is the best
Nothing separates my body from yours
I admire your perfect, flawless form
You nuzzle gently and kiss my neck
Our love will keep us warm
The dream goes on and my heart races
You rest your hand upon my waist
I lean forward, lips apart
They caress your neck, I savor the taste
This could last for all of eternity
And still I would want more
It is your beauty that first attracted
It is your heart that I will always adore
You fill my heart with emotions
You fill my thoughts with desire
You are sweet temptation to me
Like fuel cast on a raging fire
The dream ends abruptly
My eyes blink, I feel my body shake
Visions of you still race through my mind
Why, oh why, must I always awake?
The light pours in and hits my face
I curse and turn away
I loathe this light and the end of night
I despise the breaking day
I hold on tight to the fading thoughts
The images drift from me
I growl and sigh and dream of the day
When you become my reality
