The Real Problem!

We are in trouble...

The population of this country is 300 million.

160 million are retired.

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

This leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 20 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama
Bin-Laden.

This leaves 17.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 15.8 million people who work for state and city Governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And there you are,

Sitting on
your a@#

At your computer, reading jokes...

Nice. Real nice.

Bike Week is about here

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves Who am I to be so brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are we not to be? You are a child of the universe… Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that others won’t feel insecure around you, We are all meant to shine, as children do, We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our fears, our presence automatically liberates each other.

My niece Morgan

My niece Morgan had a softball game and I couldn't make the one earlier in the week. My brother was out of town and couldn't make it so I went. I am quiting smoking and it was good to get out of the house to begin with. It was sooo nice out today. So I got there and her mom had left for a bit and it was right after she got hurt so I had to go see her and she was still upset a little (she's fine just a bruised wrist - minor swelling on a slide). I never really thought I had a big effect on her but being there and seeing if she needed anything (they had ice and water), I got to be there for her and she thanked me. Sometimes I wonder if they know how much I love her. It is the encouraging words or the mere presence over and over that does it. Either I got a hug after the game too ;)
I work in a corporate environment, live in the middle of a large city, have responsibility and bills and all that stuff one accumulates and here knowing my time is on two wheels is approaching, I can relax and I get this smirk this bit of cockiness knowing I'm not here to play it safe, blend in, or be average. And it's how we live, not the take the safe route, hold back hide out and don't take any chances but get out and do. I get out there on the bike, the rush the high the adrenaline, the picking my spots to open the throttle and kick it up another gear. Bike waves, no cager gets 'em! They usually get the Sicilian Street Salute after they about run us off the road. Besides if you pull your bike off the road to check something out that's not right, you'll have company and someone to help if ya need it. I know I do, even if I'm in my car. Here it is better than I could say. The main thing, you have a motorcycle, you have not just a conveyance, you have as well a transcendently potent resource, a ready antidote to the feeling of being trapped. This a bedeviling vexation of the human condition, regardless of circumstance. The motorcycle being the vehicle for physical and spiritual delivery. So when the world starts annoying you, as surely it must, its complications and compromises and contrivances, you have an option. You can get on the motorcycle. Once there the world becomes palpable and direct, requiring your involvement, reliant on your unfettered judgment. Other people’s opinions, irrelevant. Just you and the motorcycle and the big exciting world.
