Oliver Madly is Jeff Clark's alter ego. Just a name less generic for my own creative endeavours. I spent many entertaining years as the house recording engineer for Pasha Records at Pasha Music House in Hollywood and have continued to do freelance recording since they closed. Wild Animal was recorded LIVE in '88 and is also posted below. Me and a couple of my old friends from Ruthless daze got asked to jam at the last minute for a huge party at Mike Bailey's Computer Church (which was just a name given to a huge warehouse that he had access to). We got had a drummer who said he would show up but never did. Frank Mone (who plays an awesome bass) came up with a riff on the way over in the '66 Chevy Van and Rollin "Troll" Lagman (guitar player extrodinaire) and him played around and jammed with it as we rolled. I had a lot of testosterone at the time due to a lady I had met recently and so it was easy to make up the lyrics on the way over. We hadn't had any rehearsal and now no drummer. When we got there, we met this drummer named Skin in the parking lot who said he knew a lot of Preist, Sabbath and stuff so we got him to jam. Well, were up there jammin covers and I guess Frank shows the guy the riff between songs and all of the sudden we're jamming it. It's wasn't exactly tight or rehearsed but it somehow got recorded to a cassette tape and that's what you're hearing.
And If... The 2nd song posted below, is the result of my friend Dusty Arth coming by my studio and laying down the rough (one take) guitar track which immediately inspired me to write and record the lyrics. It's very rough. All in all it took less than 3 hours to write and record. I'm not sure how long Dusty spent on the guitar track's creation but I'm glad that he did.
