The incredibles, yes an animated masterpiece for the whole family (or us kids who never want to grow up). This movie proves that there are original ideas still out there. Good story line and full of little quips for the adults too.
this story follows a family of superheroes after lawsuits have forced super heroes to go into hiding, only using their alter egos. But can they just put aside their super hero days, of course not. And when trouble rises it's ugly head they are back into action.
The heroes are well mixed even if they have powers seen before, they could have come up with something new however. Edna (the heroes costume designer) is GREAT though and makes a nice new addition to the idea of super heroes. The arch villain too is kinda cool too in he has no real super powers, yet is quite fomidible in his own rights. My niece and nephew told me i had to rate this one 5 out of 5 tankards and since this movie is geared towards them i let them rate it.
The Labyrinth is a great cult classic. this story of a young girl who wishes her little brother to be taken by the goblin king has more imagination to it than any recent movie i've seen in years. When sarah (jennifer connelly) gets her wish and realizes she wants her little brother back the goblin king (David Bowie) gives her one day to find his castle in the center of the labyrinth. Along the way she makes some interesting friends and runs into trouble around every corner.
okay this movie is old, but i still love it. In my opinion when Jim Henson and George Lucus get together it is almost always worth watching. What makes this great is it is fun for all ages, even the kids (if you happen to have any) can sit and enjoy this movie with you. from start to end this movie uses excellent special effects (for it's time) and weaves a story that captures young and old imaginations alike. it keeps reminding us that nothing is as it seems, (Like britney spears used to be cool). So if you haven't seen it WATCH IT at least once, because some wierdo's like me use movie quotes from it sometimes and who knows what might be on some quiz show.
Overall i would have to rate this movie a 5 out of 5 tankards (what can i say i grew up with it)
Water world, classic Kostner, honestly i like the movie even though it has a shallow plot and the acting sucks. Who can argue with the mean person everyone hates gets a heart and saves the little girl. It kinda reminds me of the "how the grinch stole christmas" (and the deformed bad ass's heart grew three sizes that day).
but who knows the way global warming is, we all may learn something from this movie. STOCK UP ON SCUBA GEAR.
For those who haven't seen it this post apacolyptic movie follows the travels of a mutant drifter (Kostner) who gets involved in a small group of peoples search for "dry land" as the whole known world is covered in water. The "smokers" also want to find this utopia for themselves and it's basically a race to find and figure out the map, which happens to be a young girl's tatoo.
Well overall I would have to say i would give this movie a 3 out of 5 tankards.
I sit around when not at work and watch movies a lot. this time of year i'm inside more than out, and in the summer i still usually watch one after dark. So i thought what the heck, i'm on here and wanted to start a blog so i'd stick with what i know. So if you don't mind listening to a nerd's opinion on movies come by if you see a title you like or want to check out.
