mum expired. [FRIENDS]

Ok here is my mumm. I recently started dating this guy and it has gotten pretty serious. When we started dating he told me he has not been with anyone in a year. Well today he calls me and tells me his ex told him she is pregnant with his baby. So, I asked him how could that be if he has not been with anyone in a year. Should I a.) shrug it off or b.) not believe a word he tells me?
