Tonight

my room is too large

and the silence

deafening

a scratchy sheets and bedding

avalanche around me

suffocating

while my frigid extremities

poke out

awkward angles

and serpentine twists

as I clench my eyes

shut

tight. tighter.

splashes of infrared sparks

accost my eyes

as I fail

to drown out

this internal roar

the gaping darkness

that taunts

from within

as I try not to slip

again...
