A Day In The Eyes Of A Cashier

A constant smile,

A cheerful greeting,

Someone you will forget,

Five minutes later,

Never knowing my name,

Until somethings wrong,

Your enemy when you think I'm wrong,

Your bestfriend when I save you money,

You look at me and think,

God sh'es lazy,

She just stands there all day,

What you don't see,

Is all the merchandise,

I put away,

All the names,

I get called,

When we dont' carry something,

Yet the smile never leaves my face,

I always welcome you and thank you,

Yet you still stay I stand here,

And do nothing.

Remember the next time you judge a cashier, that if it wasnt' for them things for you would be much harder.  Appreciate the first face you see and remember just becase she smiles doesn't mean she is happy or glad to see you.  Never judge her.  She works harder and puts upw ith more than you will ever know.

Slowly you are slipping way,

To once again dissapear into the shadows,

I could feel it the last time I saw you,

The distance you are putting between us,

I have felt this feeling before,

I felt it the last time this happened,

My grip on you is lessening,

My heart will soon again be empty,

For the feelings I felt from you will be gone,

But it's my own fault for letting you in again, 

When I knew I shouldn't,

The pain I feel will only increase as time goes on,

Do not worry about me tho,

I shall drift along as I was before you returned,

Soon it will all just be a memory that my mind will wander too,

And I will allow myself a moment to feel happiness again,

Before I quickly push it to the back of my mind and bottom of my heart again,

Because slowly you are slipping away again.
