There comes a time in your life

when all that is in the past

comes back with a vengeance

and all of your realities come back to haunt you.

all the things you have done

all the things you havent done

and all the things you want to do

all come to you in a reflection of your life.

You come to realize all those who mattered

and those who never did

what is important and what never was

and you dream of what you want.

Realization comes when you know

that everything you did

was what you wanted to do

to live with no regrets is the goal.

You come to realize

you cant go back to fix past mistakes

you must move forward

learning, growing and living.

Today, 15 years ago

i sat at the edge of your bed

all night long, waiting, listening

for a night that would never end

I heard you talk

I heard you breath

at one point you asked me

why you were here...

we laughed and talked

until daybreak grew closer

i dont know if you heard me

or even understood what we talked about

some of the conversations we had

didnt make any sense at the time

was it a dream or reality

altho i cherished every word

as i walked away just as i had done the morning before

i kissed you softly said i love you, momma 

you looked at me

smiled and said i love you too

i told you i will see you soon

you told me to get some rest

i went home, layed down

only to wake up scared out of my mind...

i rushed back to see you

as i saw your face

you smiled a wide smile

you told me im glad you are back

you asked me to come closer

and so i did, not noticing all the other people in your room

you quietly said, I'm gonna go now...

i jokingly said, Ok mom you go, and by the way, where are we going????

you told me to come closer...

i did as you asked

so close to you, i could feel your breath...

you said, where i am going you cant go yet...

i told you that i will follow you

you told me no,

you said you were ready

to embrase your next journey...

i told you ok, But i will see you soon,

as my journey ends with yours

you said no... this is one i have to do on my own

it not your time she softly said to me

your last words to me...

i love you, my daughter....

My time is done...

and make sure you give your brother a birthday cake... LOL

I LOVE YOU MOM....

and miss you more and more everyday!

As she sits in the darkness

waiting for the light to come

Reflection comes so easy

creeping in like a thief of the night...

Not wanting to dwell on the past

but unable to escape it

the walls close in

she must get out of site...

Days seem so short

the nights never end

If only the two were reversed

she could find happiness again...

The stars in the sky
the blackness of night...
a constant reminder
of a lost love no where in site.

The heart once again shattered
the trust once again gone...
the pain is unbearable
on til the consciousness is gone.

Only to awaken once again
to shards of brokeness...
she trys to mend
the heart of glass.

Hope is alive once again
as the new day dawns...
a new day to dream
until daybreak is gone.

The circle is endless
and goes on and on...
to break the cycle is her goal
to love again, if only in her dreams.

in the days of yesterday

her heart was shattered

like a fragile piece of crystal

broke into a million pieces...

as the days grow longer

the nights get shorter

the heart gets swept away

in the winds that blow…

a girls heart is fragile

so may days of pain

she looks for resistance

in days that seem to never end

stumbling and falling

only to pick herself up again

to see the beauty of the current day

not looking much to the future

 wondering all the while

if there is one that can mend

meld all the pieces back together

is it possible…

treading lightly she moves forward

into waters unknown

hoping that the one that found her

is the mender of the shattered pieces

guarded ever so guarded

as the water gets deeper

the trust becomes so easy

knowing that the water is always there

the water recovers as she moves deeper

filling the space where she stood

leaving no holes

it was like she was never there

is this a sign from above

that the pieces of the shattered glass

that she is has so often kept hidden are slowly mending

the glass forging together once again

if this is the time

that the heart is forged

can all the pieces be put back together

to form the shape of a heart mended…

Both of us seeing the past reborn

the heart is now on the line.

Too many days of sorrow,

too many days of pain

all I need is to have the hope

of love for me...

The days seem bleek,

the clouds have emerged,

the sunny days behind me,

the warmness of your arms just out of reach.

These words are bursting out of me

like tears stinging from my eyes,

no longer containable,

not for only me to see anymore.

The days become longer,

the light as a binding noose,

the nights pure hell,

as eyes stay open in the darkness.

To heal the pain

one can never tell,

to hear the words

if only just a dream.............
