I Will Always Be Your Friend You are never alone, I am always near, When you have troubles or feeling blue, All you have to do is call me, I am always around for my friends. It does not matter where I am, And it does not matter when, When you need someone to talk to you, Then I will always be your friend. If you need someone to hold your hand, Or all you need is a great big hug, I will be the shoulder to cry on, I will always be your friend. Please, Dad As winds sweep away the days, I look back on life through a haze. Remember playgrounds, parks and friends, In childlike gaze that never ends. The laughter in a game of catch, Shall memory ever attach…. To innocence in youthful eyes, Catching the ball to dad’s surprise. I recall my first bike and the first wreck, Who picked me up and said “what the heck?” Convinced me to give it one more try, While knees skinned, I forgot to cry. Just the joy knowing he was there, Make him proud my only care. There was nothing I couldn’t do, My heart held fast that to be true. Though teenage years were kind of rough, I sure wasn’t too big or tough. You taught me to defend what’s right, And never back down from a fight. So I learned the hard way to stand, Still with each lump, I found your hand. Drawing from you an inner strength, And stubborn pride of equal length. But there the line of fate was drawn, As though I blinked and you were gone. I found myself facing the sun, Not man, not boy, fatherless one. Eyes blinded by a void inside, I could not live know that your love for me has died. At least finding it to be true, I could do nothing without you. Please, Dad today just hear my call, I’m sorry that I dropped the ball. My life is wrecked, my knees skinned, My emotions undisciplined. I can’t get up although I try, Please don’t be upset if I cry. Fishing With My Grandpa My Grandpa and I did a lot of things together. But fishing with my Grandpa was the best ever. I loved going to the river when the sky is all blue. I love riding in my Grandpa's van too. The last trip to the river, I do really miss. But I know Grandpa is with GOD catching fish. Love and miss you Grandpa, Sean Bates

If I could catch a rainbow If I could catch a rainbow, I would do it, just for you, And, share with you, its beauty, on the days you're feeling blue. If I could, I would build a mountain, you could call your very own. A place to find serenity, a place just to be alone. If I could, I would take your troubles, and toss them into the sea. But, all these things, I'm finding, are impossible for me. I cannot build a mountain, or catch a rainbow fair; but, let me be, what I know best, A Friend, who's always there. I promise to defend you, should the occasion ever rise, And, I promise to wipe away the tears, which might stream from your weeping eyes. Let me be the trusted Friend, the one that you know best. I will never leave you, on that, you can surely rest.

Lighting Your Way BY: SEAN BATES If I was one thing, I'd be a candle Lighting the way so you can handle Your life easier without woes Not having to fight with your foes. I'd help keep you from stumbling over Things blocking your path to an open door. If I light your path, life is easier, Even strong winds, my light will not deter. No matter what, I'm here for you To cheer you up when you are blue. Do not fret when times get tough, If things look down or kind of rough. Just remember, I'm always here, In your heart, close and near. I will help you out in every way, Happiness and love in your heart will stay. Don't blow me out, that's one request Unless it's me you do detest. I do not try to hurt anyone That isn't good or any fun. But one day you may leave me behind You may no longer need my light to shine. If that day comes, go on your way And I will hope to see you again one day. If one day, I don't appear, Do not worry, do not fear I may be gone, but in your heart The light I gave you did not depart. It will be there forever and a day To always bring happiness and light your way. Farewell for now, I'm needed elsewhere If your path grows dark, in your heart, I'm there.
