Common sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun-lotion or a Band-Aid to a student - but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing

ME

Your smile can melt the hearts of all women, On my rictor scale you are a perfect 10, My wish is to hold you all through the night, If loving you is wrong I don't want to be right, Your lips look so tender and so very sweet, You are a special person from your head to your feet, So gorgeous, sexy, and caring too, Your inner beauty glows from deep inside of you, I feel connected to you when you look into my eyes, I long to hold you close, and cuddle between your theighs, I jave respect for you because you are a man first, You lighten my life, you are God's gift to this earth, In old habits sometimes we easily get stuck, But stay positive baby and keep your head up, Everytime I see you smile it just makes my day, I want to get to know you better is what I am trying to say, Please don't lose respect for me after reading this, Your lips I so wish to kiss, So remember the M, and remember the E, Put them together my love, and always remember ME.

Speech by George Carlin

"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spand more but have less, we buy more, enjoy less. We have bigger homes, and smaller families, more convieneces, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgement, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possesions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, and not a life. We've added years to life, but not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a neighbor. We've conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things. but not better things, We've cleaned up the air, but polluted our soul, We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice, we write more but learn less, we plan more, but accomplish less, we've learned to rush, but not to wait, we build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. There are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships, these are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are the days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morelity, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill, it is a time when is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or just hit delete. Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forecer, Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leace your side, remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent, remember to say I love you to your partner and loved ones, but most of all mean it, a kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you, remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again, give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. Kife is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that ake our breath away. -George Carlin

A slave to sin..

-Jail house poem- Living life in the fast lane, could even the strongest insane, always taking the easy way out, just to find out what this life of sin is all about, I have sold my life and sould to the devil, I thought my unstable life he could make level, along with all the unwanted demons I have let in, not even God himself could save my lost soul, because the Prince of darkness has now taken control, with his chains tied around me tight, because of his fear of losing his slave to the freedom of light, I wish I would have given the good life a chance, but instead I stayed down, in the dark, under an evil trance, binded by the chains I have created in me, a slave to sin is what I will always be....

Venus and Mars

Women are like apples on a trees, The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just take the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy..... The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now, men..... Men are like fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them untill they turn into acceptable to have dinner with.

Road called Loneliness

I heard you call my name today, I just ignored it and went along my way, I found a road called loneliness, now if fate's hand opened, and called me there, would God almighty judge me fair? It's the road called loneliness, and what of fate, now in the essence of prayer, we would know for fact that we never belonged there, walking this road called loneliness...

My scrip...

" For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, "declares the Lord, " and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you, " declares the Lord, " and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile" Jeremiah29:11-14(NIV)
