MY LONE RIDE
You come to me in dreams before,
With painted walls and checkered floors.
Our minds were strong, My heart grew weak,
Time had us dancing cheek to cheek.
A glimpse of what our lives might be,
If I would only choose to see.
Instead I choose to walk alone,
Until the road I take leads home.
I’m searching far and driving fast,
To someday find this place at last.
I travel where my heart decides,
And choose the path for my lone ride.
This lonely horse will ride along,
‘till all his loneliness is gone.
And if I end up at your door,
Could it be what could be before.
Or will I have lost my only chance,
To walk with you and dance our dance.
