Biskit's blog: "My latest cabin experience"

True story, I couldn't make this shit up if I tried. 🐶

Finally back home, later than expected from my cabin. Bucky got out Sunday night and decided to explore the mountainside, and of course his GPS tracker couldn't locate him. Everyone in the area tried to help to find him, but we finally gave up after midnight because even with flashlights we couldn't see far into the woods. I just hoped he would come home when he got tired.

At 1am, I decided to drive one more time around the mountain, taking some freshly cooked chicken, which is his favorite food. I drove almost all the way down a small street that is just above us on the mountain, and I thought I saw him in the woods in front of a small house.

I stopped the truck and called his name. He stopped what he was doing, looked up and made to move away. I jumped from the truck with his leash and the chicken, and I realized I could no longer see him. I ran back to the truck to grab a flashlight, then ran down the driveway to where I thought he went to.

Mind you, it's pitch black outside, and I'm running and calling his name, and telling him I have some yummy chicken as a treat. About 20 feet away from him, the homeowners motion light comes on. This is when I realize I'm not chasing Bucky, but a BLACK BEAR!!!!

Thankfully the bear was running away from this crazy woman shining a flashlight on him and trying to give him chicken. I ran back to the truck even faster than the bear running from me. I rolled up the windows, started the truck, and said a prayer that Bucky would make it home safe, because I was done searching the woods.

As I slowly drove the truck to the cabin, I see Bucky about 4 houses down the opposite way running towards me! He had heard me say chicken, and he hopped in the truck to come home and enjoy his snack.

What an unbelievable but true ending to our mini vacation....🐻🐻🐻
