Haven't been updating my journal. I'm 99.9% sure my precious little three year old grandbaby Caidence will be coming to stay with me at least during the week. Photobucket If I'm on here when she's here as much as I am here now, Caidence wouldn't benefit much from staying with me other than going to head start. So, starting the beginning of November, I will be here but won't be here much. And because she is here that is more of an expense as before and after care is $70 a week. So that will mean, especially with the holidays coming up, I won't be blinging like I was or doing many, if any, VIP gifts, blast gifts, etc. I may not even have my own VIP for too long. But that is okay. I have met a ton of friends here and if I don't get daily rates, the world won't come to an end. Oh an she is oh SO ready for dance class! I will take her to the same place her mom went a bunch of years ago. They start at age three so she's perfect. I sent some 18 month old dancing videos of Caidence to Miss Micky and she was very impressed. :D My priority is my family. Also have a 15 year old son at home but he is always on xbox live so my participation here wasn't interfering with him. lol Toss him some food and he's happy. Need to get that boy out walking with me. Sheesh I do have several awesome auto 11s to use and I will be using them today and this week for sure. Today I will more than likely make prophet. Woot! Love you all and even if I'm not here, do know I'm thinking about you! xoxox

Mom -

My sister, Adele, and I took mom to the emergency room Tuesday evening. Took her an hour to use the bathroom at home; she was having trouble catching her breath. Upon arrival, her oxygen level was 60 and it should be over 90. After many tests, they concluded she has pneumonia coupled with congestive heart failure, but the CHF wasn't really a real issue as opposed to the pneumonia. They gave her oxygen using a mask but also did it using the nose piece. She couldn't maintain oxygen level over 90 with the nose piece so she was admitted to ICU using the mask. They said she may just be in ICU for 12 hours or something like that then moved to a regular room. Said if all goes well she should be home in a few days, but pneumonia is nothing to sneeze at, excuse the pun. Oh and mom will be 85 on the 27th of this month. Adele and I left the hospital around 2:30 Wednesday morning. She is going to drive a co-worker to work in the morning the go see mom for a bit. Please keep mom (Ruth) in your prayers. Thanks. :D UPDATE: Mom does not hae pneumonia but had a minor heart attack. I was sick as a dog today because I took my son Zack to see his paternal grandmother in a rehab/nursing center this past Sunday. There was a sign on the door saying if u have the flu or anything like that to not go in because they have germs spreading right now. Nice. Surely I caught something there. Didn't even get to see mom today. I got dressed and started puking. Finally went back to bed. Have a fever and everything. What a mess.

Friday, January 18th

YAY for Fridays! Woot! I will be getting my precious granddaughter tonight. She lights up my life. She messes up my house; but lights up my life. Hearing her call me, "MaMa" (short for Grandmama)is one of the best sounds I've heard.
Caidence
Another nicity (is that a word? lol) today that warmed my heart was I was chatting with a new friend recently and today she told me words really meant something to her and she really appreciated our chat. Will all the childish stuff going on here in fu land now and then, it is so heartwarming to know that my words actually reached someone. Like The Sisterhood tag I recently saw, reach for a hand and touch the heart. I ¢¾ all of my friends. :D

LOL Damn it!

That stupid "Fall" song got me a speeding ticket. We were headed home from boy scout camp and one of the boys .. older boy ... was in the front seat when that song came on and he started singing it to me. I told him it had special meaning to me and he kept singing. lol Then the speed trap. Yeppers...that same boy was talking about being pulled over FOUR times with scouts and no tickets handed out. This time there was. To the tune of $104.00. Fortunately it was Broken Arrow and not Tulsa cuz it would have been $140.00. To boot, the trap was RIGHT at the exit for our drop off of boys. Grrrrrr Beginning to wonder if I really like cops as my profile says I do. . .
Well good things don't stay good for too long. Yes, Tuesday night Lou can home and I was rejoicing the night away or the hour or so he was with us before taking him home. lol Wednesday? Can we redo it? I managed to get someone very special to me not upset with me per se but feel bad about something I didn't do. Man, it wasn't meant for any reason other than I need to protect myself here and it seems more and more evident that is the case. See, I realized I couldn't be somewhere tonight online for what I thought was an important event and requested like an hour and a half delay so I could be there and was actually denied because this is JUST the internet and because someone is "stubborn". So if you don't see me online today, I'm alive but just busy doing my work. Thirsty Thursday
WOO HOO! Praise God! Spent all day in Court with Beate waiting to see my son Lou and find out the outcome of the trumped up charges. To make a LONG story short, he is getting seven years probation and will have two (I believe) felonies on him for the rest of his life. Don't like the felony charges but at least he will be coming home some time today. I am actually waiting for his phone call! We are going to have a pizza party ... wanna come? Hallelujah!!!!
More than two-thirds of the Tulsa metro area was without electricity Monday as heavy ice caused trees to snap and fall, taking power lines with them. At least 14 deaths statewide were attributed to the weather, including two in Tulsa. The first was in a morning traffic accident on 46th Street North in which a man drove his truck into a low-hanging electrical wire that pulled the utility pole down, crushing him. The second Tulsa fatality was of a woman who died of smoke inhalation in one of the more than 75 reported structural fires. Among those was a house that was destroyed by fire on Monday night, firefighters said. About 5:15 p.m., fire crews were called to the 7600 block of East 58th Place after an electrical short on the outside of the house caused a fire to spread into attic of the 2,220-square-foot brick home, said District Chief Pat Remmert. The fire, which likely started because of a short circuit caused by the ice and falling limbs, engulfed the house, although all of the occupants were able to escape unharmed, Remmert said. The Fire Department received 1,800 calls between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 p.m. Monday -- about 10 times more than normally received, officials said. The American Red Cross was overwhelmed by the huge demand for services in the Tulsa area and was unable to assist the family in Monday night's fire, Remmert said. Lt. Gov. Jari Askins signed a state of emergency declaration for Oklahoma on Monday because of the storm. Askins has been acting governor since last week, when Gov. Brad Henry flew to Honolulu for the dedication of the USS Oklahoma Memorial. Paul Sund, spokesman for Henry, said the governor was trying to fly back to the state as soon as possible. "The goal is to return to Oklahoma by Tuesday. The problem is getting a flight and making sure you can land in Oklahoma City," Sund said. AEP-PSO was reporting more than 213,000 homes and businesses without power Monday night out of roughly 300,000 in the Tulsa metropolitan area. "It's an absolute mess out there," said Preston Kissman, American Electric Power-Public Service Company of Oklahoma vice president of distribution. Tulsa International Airport had power outages and hospitals were using generators. Residents of a Collinsville nursing home were evacuated after the facility lost power. It could take until mid-next week -- seven to 10 days -- to restore electricity to everyone, with individual homes being last on the priority list, Kissman said. "We will be able to make a huge dent in that number later today and Tuesday," he said. "It will get better each day after that, but the reality of it is, it's going to take a long time to recover." Oklahoma Gas & Electric, based in Oklahoma City, reported 237,306 customers were without power as of Monday, according to the company's Web site. Cox Communications had about 5,000 phone customers in the Tulsa area without service and 24,000 in the Oklahoma City area. Tulsa residents were being asked to conserve water Monday afternoon because Mohawk Water Treatment Plant was without power. Output was increased at the A.B. Jewell Water Treatment Plant. The Mohawk plant was on AEP-PSO's priority list and expected to have electricity restored later in the day. Kissman said this is the worst ice storm to hit Tulsa since the late 1980s. "It's like what McAlester experienced last January," he said. Hundreds of linemen were working to restore power Monday. A request has been made for 1,500 more. "This has hit Oklahoma City all the way up to Missouri, so there's a heavy demand for resources," Kissman said. "The good news is that it's supposed to warm up, but we're not out of the woods yet." Emergency shelters were opened in several locations. Mayor Kathy Taylor said few people Monday were taking advantage of Tulsa's shelters. "We want residents to know that if they're in the dark and have no heat, they have a place to go," she said, noting that food will be provided. About 40 people were stranded at the Tulsa Greyhound Bus Station and some of them made their way to the shelters. Tulsa area schools were closed Monday and many have canceled classes Tuesday. Many nonessential government workers were sent home for the day. Tulsa's Emergency Operations Center was activated at 5:30 a.m. Monday. The center has asked state emergency management officials for assistance for both the city and the county by preparing emergency declarations. Residents were urged not to try to move downed tree limbs or power lines themselves. "Right now is not the best time for you to be addressing the trees in your backyard," Capt. Larry Bowles said. "You should stay in your homes because the trees are still breaking and someone could get hurt." Bowles also said that all downed lines should be considered live. "Stay away from them," he said. Fire officials also warned residents of carbon monoxide poisoning through the use of alternative heating sources. "Go to a shelter if you need a warm place," Bowles said. "Don't risk harm or death for you or your family." Firefighters were busy Monday handling structure fires related to electrical problems. Many homes also have sustained roof damage from falling trees. EMSA spokeswoman Tina Wells said ambulances responded to 168 medical emergencies between midnight and 2 p.m. "We're seeing a lot of people with breathing conditions and heart conditions who are experiencing trouble in this cold air and who are out exerting themselves," she said. Tulsa's street crews spent more time clearing tree debris from the roadway Monday than spreading salt. "Our top priority is to keep the streets passable," said Dan Crossland, Public Works Department deputy director of public facilities. "We've got a lot of arterials that are partially if not completely blocked." Broken tree limbs are simply being pushed to the side of the road, Crossland said. "Once we start to see some melting, we can go back and start picking them up, but right now we're far too busy for that," he said. Crews began putting salt on the city streets early Sunday morning and have been working 12-hour shifts. "The streets really haven't been that bad because we've kept on top of them," Crossland said. "You just have to watch yourself on the bridges and the highway overpasses." Tulsa County road crews began emergency weather operations late Sunday afternoon. County Engineer Ray Jordan said county crews are running two, 10-hour shifts a day. "We're clearing trees from roads -- that's the big issue," he said. The Tulsa Police Department on Monday was operating at twice the normal strength, with more than 120 uniformed officers on the streets. The midnight uniformed shift was held over to work through the daytime hours and being assisted by detectives and academy recruits. "About two-thirds of them are devoted to blocking streets where the power lines and trees are down," Police Chief Ron Palmer said. Many intersections are without working lights and officials have not been able to place four-way stop signs everywhere, he said. The Police Department remains on Operation Slick Streets, meaning that officers will not respond to noninjury traffic accidents. Tulsa City-County Health Department Director Gary Cox encouraged people without power to keep their refrigerators closed. Frozen foods should last about 48 hours. If there's any question as to whether food has spoiled, it should be thrown away, he said. -------------------- The above was in the "Tulsa World" newspaper. Today is day five and some people are still without power. We were fortunate and only lost power for approximately 36 hours. FEMA has been called in and everything. Traffic lights are still out here and there and many businesses are still blacked out. It has been a tad scary driving at night in pitch blackness with no street lights. ♥ ♥ ♥ After I left New York almost 20 years ago, my ex had called one day discussing a possible reconcilliation. He did that several times. In our discussion he said..... "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with" . . . Yeppers that comes for a song, and I have seen it in place on many occasions. Pretty sad, isn't it? ♥ ♥ ♥ My son Zack called and said he got our home internet to work, so he's in heaven. Our phone has been sporatic with the ice storm, as well as the internet. My gosh, you'd think someone killed his best friend the other night when the net went down and he lost his XBox live game. lol Going to take my son, Lou's girlfriend Beate to lunch tomorrow then take her to see Lou. Only one person per week can visit him. :(
Yes, I'm in Oklahoma, and being a displaced Yankee, I, too, lol, thought country music was a bunch of cry in my beer, my wife took off with my truck and my dog kind of songs, but then somehow I started going to a few western clubs, learned slightly lol how to two-step (never had a good partner) and had a blast learning line dancing, especially with a few drinks under my belt. Besides country, they played rock generally as well. Yes, I even got myself a part time job at Drysdales Western Wear. lol Heck, employees got 40% off on personal clothes. Woo hoo. I remember so well ions ago, man it was ions ago before I ever even got married and all I had dated this guy in my home town in New York who ended up going to hmm some other state in the winter and worked on the railroad. He came back and wanted to take me to this new country bar that just opened. I was like ... are you crazy? lol I was a good girl and agreed to go. Oh my gosh, I was there for maybe five or ten minutes and I wanted to leave. lol It was not in the least where I wanted to be. Who would have known I really do enjoy it now. lol Anyway, I hadn't listened to country music on my car radio in quite a while, but was flipping stations en route to the jail actually looking for a country station, and this song came on and it was definitely the right song at the right time. Well, not sure right for what but it surely had my feelings down pat because my emotions were going haywire and all I wanted was to do was do what this song said and it was so fitting: Clay Walker - "Fall" Oh look there you go again Puttin on that smile again Even though I know you've had a bad day Doin this doin that Always puttin yourself last A whole lotta give and not enuff take But you can only be strong so long before you break So.. Chorus: Fall Go on and fall apart Fall into these arms of mine I'll catch you everytime you Fall Go on and lose it all Every doubt every fear Every worry every tear I'm right here Baby fall Forget about the world tonight All thats wrong and all thats right Lay your head on my shoulder let it fade away And if you wanna let go baby it's okay Chorus: Fall Go on and fall apart Fall into these arms of mine I'll catch you everytime you Fall Go on and lose it all Every doubt every fear Every worry every tear I'm right here Baby fall Hold on Hold on Hold on To me Chorus: Fall Go on and fall apart Fall into these arms of mine I'll catch you everytime you Fall Go on and lose it all Every doubt every fear Every worry every tear I'm right here Baby fall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EwHDTyMU7k
