Family

As most people here know family health issues have not been good...

Mom had a stroke December 8th, 2015...

was able to be home from Christmas on the 23rd...

i had some heart issues again...
January 25th was my last day at work because of my left shoulder..
after months of trying different things, surgery is know being scheduled to fix it...

March 7th dad went into Chandler regional Hospital because he fell twice.
had a brian anuerism and to this date is using a walker to get around..

being 100% disabled from Agent Orange in Vietnam dads Luekimia and Heart issues have taken its toll... now it is a waiting game on when he will pass away..
could be tomorrow, next week or whenever but it will be soon....

So I went to my appointment this afternoon and was told all of my latest test results.
but before that, everyone should know I have been a type 2 diabetic for sometime now.
big change in diet and exercise. taking two types of insulin.
long acting Levemeir and short acting Novalog.
well my  A1C is at 8.1 right now..
though my morning sugar levels have decreased greatly..
averaging 130 in the morning...

but we did lots of tests. blood, urine, ultra sounds, CT, MRI etc, etc...

I have EPI - Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency and Pancreatic cysts...

not to mention the following complications past and present..

  • Heart and blood vessel disease. Diabetes dramatically increases the risk of various cardiovascular problems, including coronary artery disease with chest pain (angina), heart attack, stroke, narrowing of arteries (atherosclerosis) and high blood pressure.
  • Nerve damage (neuropathy). Excess sugar can injure the walls of the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) that nourish your nerves, especially in the legs. This can cause tingling, numbness, burning or pain that usually begins at the tips of the toes or fingers and gradually spreads upward. Poorly controlled blood sugar can eventually cause you to lose all sense of feeling in the affected limbs. Damage to the nerves that control digestion can cause problems with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. For men, erectile dysfunction may be an issue.
  • Kidney damage (nephropathy). The kidneys contain millions of tiny blood vessel clusters that filter waste from your blood. Diabetes can damage this delicate filtering system. Severe damage can lead to kidney failure or irreversible end-stage kidney disease, which often eventually requires dialysis or a kidney transplant.
  • Eye damage. Diabetes can damage the blood vessels of the retina (diabetic retinopathy), potentially leading to blindness. Diabetes also increases the risk of other serious vision conditions, such as cataracts and glaucoma.
  • Foot damage. Nerve damage in the feet or poor blood flow to the feet increases the risk of various foot complications. Left untreated, cuts and blisters can become serious infections, which may heal poorly. Severe damage might require toe, foot or leg amputation.
  • Hearing impairment. Hearing problems are more common in people with diabetes.

I all ready had 2 heart attacks in  2013. the nerve and kidney damage are being looked into as we speak. eyes are ok for now... the feet, well right foot the middle and ring toe are usually numb.. I do have nueropathy in my feet.. makes it hard to sleep at night unless medicated with Gabapentin 300mg...
