VDRP (My hobby)...

As a hobby, I run something called the [V]ictoria [D]emo [R]estoration [P]roject, I try to hunt down demos that featured bands from Victoria, BC on them (I also restore music people want me to fix, I do an OK job, but you can't do much with a 2 track (sounds like hell) recording)). My MySpace page (which includes way more data then this): http://www.myspace.com/vdrp . I figured I'd post this cause someone from the States was looking for a demo I had. I'm always looking for releases I don't have. Nuff said...
Since I got a membership with cherryTap late last year, I've managed to get over 300 friends (WOW!!!) but I notice some people don't chat with certain people. WHY?!? More people should be sociable on here, it's what makes this place fun to hang around. Also, I have yet to play with Second Life, it looks interesting, but the last time I installed it I didn't install DirectX so I had to re-install XP (I just got a 320 gig hard drive, fun toy!!!) but I wanna play with second life to see if it's somewhere else to hang around. Thanks to all my friends, hopefully I'll be able to bring the friends collection up to 400 :) As U were!
For those who follow Doctor Who and Torchwood, the final 2 episodes for the end of season one of Torchwood finished in Britain today. BUT Sarah Jane Adventures started January 1st on BBC, which according to Wikipedia seems to be a Doctor Who for children. I'm just grabbing the first episode, but after I read the description on Wikipedia, Sarah Jane carries around the female version of the Sonic Screwdriver, which is now called the Sonic Lipstick?!? Now I'm worried. BTW: Torchwood is awesome once you take the swearing and sexual references out of the storyline. Episode 4 of Torchwood was AWESOME!!! With the swearing, it seemed like they forced the swearing into the series to make it more adult based, c'mon people. Don't make the show cheap, cause Torchwood isn't! BTW: BBC doesn't let us lowly Canadian viewers watch the new episodes on the BBC website, but that's OK cause we can just download the episodes from BitTorrent sites. Where there's a will... :)

What is S4L?!?

S4L (Single For LIfe) is a state of mind I somehow get into, and since I'm not big into the relationship thing as is (relationships get you in shit) I figured I might as well be S4L. It's easier that way, yeah I know, sucks to be me right?!? Anyhow, I gave up trying, I guess noone is good enough.

New Hard drive (and WII!!!)

Well cause I was a moron and fried my hard drive (I'm hoping I can rescue the documents off it), I can't get my WII for a few more months (apparently the unit can also play Nintendo GameCube games, WOO!!! Fifa 2K6!!!), but it's better that way (good luck finding a system around Christmas). I'll probably get Red Steel for it cause well, that game rocks. Hopefully they'll write a WII Carmageddon for it. :) http://wii.nintendo.com/ BTW: Deicide-The Stench of Redemption rocks on thick vinyl!!!

Yikes!!

Well I'm back, that'll teach me to get infactuated over a pretty face. :( And on another note, I recently lost my 80 gig Western Digital drive (WD800) though now I think about it, I might of inadvertenly caused the drive to crash. Link of the day: http://www.tdr2k.gamingsource.net/c2adv/ - Carmageddon 2 Advanced. I'm an old school Carmageddon player, and lets face it, TDR and Carmageddon 2 were missing something. This modification is challenging, and some levels are near impossible to complete, but it's a cool game!!!
http://www.the-tiki-hut.com/reynolds/Download.htm A couple examples of the way the scene in Victoria, BC Canada used to be, however it was. You've got Infamous Scientists (early NoMeansNo) Reunion gig at Club Hasienda (now non-existant) for 1983-09-25 and also RaNDom Thought Volume 1 (which has a few NoMeansNo and Infamous Scientists tracks on it). Your's for the taking, so enjoy them. I'm hoping to add a bunch of music to this website/page, so here goes *crossing fingers*.
http://www.redherring.com/Article.aspx?a=19959&hed=Hackers+'Salivating'+for+Vista "Microsoft's long-awaited Windows Vista release Thursday for business customers will get more than just the passing attention of network administrators. That's because hackers will be eagerly waiting to do what hackers do best: start some mischief." Source: /. And according to Sophos: Sophos, a world leader in IT security, has revealed the most prevalent malware threats and hoaxes causing problems for computer users around the world during November 2006. The figures, compiled from Sophos's global network of monitoring stations, show that the W32/Stratio-Zip worm has overtaken W32/Netsky-P as the most widely circulated piece of malware, accounting for one third of the total number of reports. Sophos experts note that on the launch date of Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system, three of the top ten - including Stratio-Zip - are capable of bypassing the operating system's security defences and infecting users' PCs. The Vista-resistant malware - W32/Stratio-Zip, W32/Netsky-P and W32/MyDoom-O - comprise 39.7% of all malware currently circulating. The top ten list of malware in November 2006 reads as follows: #10 - W32/Zafi-D (Worm), #9 - W32/Sality-AA (Virus), #8 - W32/Mytob-C (Worm), #6 - W32/MyDoom-O (Worm), tied with #6 - W32/Nyxem-D (Worm), #5 - W32/Netsky-D (Worm), #4 - W32/Zafi-B (Worm), #3 - W32/Bagele-Zip (Worm), #2 - W32/Netsky-P (Worm), #1 - W32/Stratio-Zip (Worm).
http://www.defectivebydesign.org/node/404 (From NewYorkCountyLawyer) "To those who might think that I might be exaggerating when I describe the RIAA's litigation campaign as a 'reign of terror', how's this one: in UMG v. Lindor, the RIAA not only subpoenaed the computer of Ms. Lindor's son, who lives 4 miles away, but had their lawyer telephone the son's employer. See page 2, footnote 1." I found out this trick today, some people are unaware of it so I thought I would post it. If your trying to link up with YouTube video without viewing the YouTube website (ya just want the video, not the crap to go with it), you take the Embed commands into consideration. Name what the video is in the Title prompt (that's what the end user sees), and under the content copy the Embed commands (there just under the URL info) to it. Ya get video, and nothing but!
