This is something I've wondered for awhile, so here's my take:
Music in popular culture has become a dumbed down art form, replicated and churned out in such staggering quantities that it paints a washed out, faded image of something once beautiful. I think I can see a feces covered piano in the corner of the painting...
Anyway, take that as an abstraction of sorts. There are always exceptions and certainly, not all pop phenoms are unimaginative. This is simply a general observation I've made for myself.
So, a yay vote means: Yes, popular music has become overly formulaic and dull.
Nay: Nah, I don't know what your f*cking problem is. |
