Trailers (2) Mr Bean's Holiday Mr Bean's Holiday - Trailer 2 News (3) Mr Bean gets some friends! - 27/05/2006 08:00:00 Willem Dafoe, Emma de Caunes and Jean Rochefort have all signed up for supporting roles in Working Title‘s "Bean II". The sequel to the 1997 hit "Bean" started filming in Paris last week and finds the hapless Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) travelling to the South of France on holiday. Along the way he causes the usual mayhem, ending with an unscheduled screening of his video diary at the Cannes Film Festival! One person not returning for the sequel is Rowan Atkinson‘s fellow "Not The Nine O‘Clock News" star Mel Smith, who directed the first film. He has been replaced by Steven Bendelack, who has been in charge behind the camera for such comic outings as TV‘s "Little Britain" and both the small screen & big screen versions of cult comedy "The League Of Gentlemen". Mr. Bean is back! - 11/04/2006 09:00:08 There have been rumours doing the rounds for a while that one of Rowan Atkinson‘s most beloved characters would be returning to the big screen – and not it‘s been confirmed that Mr. Bean is back! The sequel to the 1997 hit "Bean – The Ultimate Disaster Movie" will see the hapless hero heading to the South of France on holiday, causing the usual mayhem along the way. The film will climax at the Cannes Film Festival, where Mr. Bean holds an unscheduled screening of his video diary. Obviously Rowan Atkinson will be back in the lead for "Bean II", while Steve Bendelack ("The League of Gentlemen‘s Apocalypse) will take over from Mel Smith as director. Shooting is due to begin on May 15th – and if you happen to be at this year‘s Cannes Film Festival, keep your eyes peeled for a clumsy Englishman clutching a one–eyed teddy bear. Mr Bean set for big screen return? - 29/03/2005 10:00:10 It would appear that Rowan Atkinson‘s foray into the spy–world in "Johnny English" was a rather short–lived thing; there are now rumours that he‘s about to bring one of his more famous creations back to the big screen. Reports in Variety are suggesting that the "Blackadder" star is preparing to breathe new life into bumbling moron "Mr. Bean", teaming up with actor / director Simon McBurney, the man behind rep troupe Theatre de Complicite, to work on the project. "Mr. Bean" is based on the character Atkinson created for his hit ITV show of the same name, which went on to become a huge smash all around the world and previously made it to the big screen in 1997‘s "Bean – The Ultimate Disaster Movie." It‘s thought "Bean 2" will film later in the year.
